I'm from the U.S. It's just that gynecology is a common enough need that even rural places have one closer than 3 hours. But the thing about him needing to be in-network, plus probably getting a recommendation for a specific doctor, makes more sense.This really isn't that abnormal for many places - are you not from the US? In many areas where there is a major city surrounded by sparse population, there will be a vast desert of medical care. Because why would a good doctor work for a pittance in a shitty rural hospital if they could instead work for the big bucks in a well funded Denver setup?
This isn't even considering medical insurance. If i remember right, Kevin is on a plan where the insurer is also the care provider. He may not even have a choice.
Not defending Kevin, but this is just a fact of life for a lot of places.
