Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

@Gehenna I've been wondering, at what point is lack of faith in government institutions generally, and the fairness of elections a concern behind the scenes? Even if its only Republicans that have misgivings about the fairness of elections, at what point does that lack of faith begin to wear down the system? I don't even mean fraud that can be proven, but just a general sense among the population that the game is rigged. I also wonder how our international allies view it from behind the scenes, but I don't think that would be your area of expertise.
Even the democrats fear it. If they could do it to Trump, can it be done to them if they step out of line? The smart ones, who aren't ideologically blinded, are very afraid of that coming to pass. It's no doubt playing a bit in the minds of Manchin and co.

Also, I know a bit more about the foreign view than I normally would, mainly due to some side work I do. The general feeling there is a concern. Not sure if it was stolen but feeling there is enough smoke that it may as well be true. But their leaders are willing to continue the pretense so long as it's not made clear there was fraud, and so long as being nice benefits them.

. . . Doesn't that mean it's 52 senators and not 2? Who is dumb enough to believe this?
Literally, nobody who applies even the most basic level of thought to it. But it's not meant to convince on that front. Consider what it's saying, it is saying to pass reconciliation first, not Infrastructure which is what the Progs want. It's Bernie caving like a little bitch.

Looks like the previous bribes have worn off and Bernie will be needing another house before he cucks to the establishment again.
This -is- the cucking. The Progs want the Infrastructure bill to be passed first.

I still can't get over how your average retarded Twitter Dem thinks just by having a razor thin margin in the legislature you're allowed to ramrod your agenda through - rules and regulations and dealing with an ever strengthening and ever more pissed off minority party be damned.
Oh no, they don't believe that. If the Republicans were to try the same they'd be apoplectic and cite a ton of good reasons. What they realize is that even after everything going in their favor, they still only got a razor-thin margin. It's now or never, the pendulum is actively swinging back now and if they don't pass it all now they never will get the chance.

Unless I have misunderstood Bernie's tweet, that is literally him cucking to the establishment.
No it looks like you're correct and I'm mistaken. There's been so much bullshit in the news about these 2 fucking bills that I'm having a hard time keeping track of which is which and who wants what, it's a total clusterfuck.

Progs = Infrastructure
Businessmen/Blue Dogs = Reconciliation
Establishment = Fucking anything at this point.

Word coming down from DC to my employer is that the infrastructure bill is super dead, and they plan to try to propose a chopped down version of the chopped down version. Not sure if it'll be announced publicly if it fails to get at least Sinema -or- Manchin on board though to pass it alongside the reconciliation bill.

Any projections on what's likely to survive said chopdown if it does happen?

At this point I too am losing track of what's in these various bills lol

None, frankly I don't see what they -could- chop out of it and make it worth passing. I think its just pure desperation to get any movement on this, especially given it'd not pass the progs in the house
