While theyre missing the point, the complicated issues get ignored and none of the annoying practical questions get asked.

Who gets attracted to the police? Is is, as they say, always people looking for power over people? Because if thats the problem we are going to address, i can tell you now that most bad things arent done by bad people.

The singular failure of society's crusade against corruption is that it is based on the premise that the purpose of any counter corruption strategy is to do better at finding bad people.

Most corruption isnt born of volition, but of cognition. Its the workplace superstars that are the biggest risk. Not because theyre secretly bad, but they are allowed to forge their own path without challange. They dont realise the bad things they do or, if they do, they genuinely see it justified.

The sort of debates on twitter show that it will be men in the spotlight, and any man who can deploy the right language wont ever face scrutiny.
