If there is anything that can finally snap some of the npcs back to instinctual reality and out of their great delusion, it will be the threat of being persecuted for attempting to raise their kids the way they see fit.

Unfortunately from what I have witnessed so far the results are a lot more mixed than even a cynic like me would have expected. It has definitely soured a lot of the independent type voters in my circle and has made those on the right even more ready to throw some tea in a harbor. But the lefties and NPC types don't seem to be budging based on this, I had a couple try to explain it away as long overdue, because "I just don't know how hard they have it as teachers".
These two in particular, it should be noted, are teaching in a county that is nearly racially homogeneous, and they would have to switch schools entirely to even have any minority students whom they would want to crusade for. They feel a state of victimhood by proxy, simply because some idiot hinted that somewhere some other idiot is threatening teachers.
Nevermind the complete lack of supporting cases they mentioned or anything in the news lately about some grave assault on educational faculty, they have never once mentioned or commented on anything of the sort, but suddenly because certain people they watch on TV and read on Twitter told them teachers are being threatened, they're suddenly on the pulse of a growing trend of assaults and rabid parents threatening staff that warrants once more turning the federal government against domestic citizens whose only crime is wrong think.

If they give up now, anything slowing the pendulum swing stops. Everything they did will come crashing down as the built-up potential energy becomes kinetic overnight. They really only have one choice at this point. It will make it worse for them in the end, but it's their only chance for any sort of victory as increasingly fleetingly unlikely as that is.

Their only hope is to literally indoctrinate the next few generations into accepting far lefty stances as the new center of the Overton window, thus permanently shifting the culture of America so that the pendulum isn't suddenly so far out there. Then shit like child drag queens, chopping your 8 year old's dick off for twitter likes, and teachers literally preaching the evils of whiteness will be seen as normal, and opposition to them will be seen as kooky right wing stances.

Thus, CRT, the desperate attempt to cut parents out of their children's education, the attacks on home schooling, et cetera et cetera. They NEED to have cultural control over the next generation, I'd argue more than they even need political power.

I would go so far as to suggest this is why the push for wokeism hit video games so hard 7 years ago when GamerGate started the pushback. Ditto the recent repeated attempts to destroy new media and force ever-left leaning algo changes on news / social media / video sharing sites. Hollywood is collapsing, new media is replacing old, and they don't have enough control over it to keep social engineering everyone. And the second they stop social engineering everyone and culture reverts to it's natural state, it's going to be a pretty big snapback.

Quite a while, anyhow. Easily since the end of the Second World War, likely since the end of the First. Granted, it hasn't been a centralized effort, but a decentralized one that takes a little nibble here and there to get to where we're at today.

I think the social part of it started with the new deal and it snowballed from there. Finacially it started with the creation of the federal reserve before world war 1 but once they took us off of bimetallism it was off to the races. stack silver and gold guys, its real money.

I don't think it has that far to go. When was the last time you watched a movie and said "Damn, that was a really good movie?" I asked a friend of mine and he said at least five years.

And therein lies the problem. Hollywood is stale. Most corporations have rendered their products down to being generic and merchandized as hell. (GW, Rooster Teeth and Wizards of the Coast coming to mind immediately.) They aren't going to pull people in without being interesting.

People are going to innovate and that is going to upset people more than anything. Their control is fleeting at best as people start saying "fuck it, let's find something awesome."

One of the first things Obama did was ditch the Marine Corps' food supplier and give it to Sodexo. It went from mostly edible food to absolute gruel. Right before I got out in the 90's, in the Army, I noticed a push to take away one of the rights, and is really bothered me.

Hell, they taught in PLDC that "it's the lower enlisted's God given right to bitch, you take that away, they'll get in small groups that go quiet when you walk by. You don't want that."

I tried explaining it to a butterbar once.

He told me that he had a college degree and I needed to be in the motor pool.

The point I'm making is that he was a 2nd/1st Lieutenant around that era and would be aware that shit got really lame in the late 2000s. The SecDef was a politician turned glownigger that had never worn a uniform before and I know a lot of officers despised that. The post-Bush pay raises were the lowest they had been in my lifetime and even Military Times was bitching about it on their front page. Everyone was shitting their pants because Russia started bombing Georgia and we were expecting to be shipped out to some yeti cave in Siberia, and all of a sudden we start bombing 5 extra countries that nobody even realized we had beef with. There was even an f/18 squadron CO in Japan that publicly said his unit would defect if Hillary won in 2008.

Scheller served under 4 presidents, and the Marine Corps had it best while Trump was around. I don't care if he shits on Trump, but I think him going the extra mile is a dumb idea that will lose him sympathy from civilians and junior Marines alike.

Edit- Apparently Panetta spent 2 years in the Army as a Lieutenant, never got promoted, got an Army Commendation Medal, then dipped the fuck out as Vietnam was starting. He never mentioned his military service, but it seemed like it was Hunter Biden tier.
