I'm not going to write down an autistic play-by-play but there's a fascinating back and forth going on in /vt/ questioning who two of the Wave 3 people actually are and I honestly don't know what to make of it.
It's especially funny because the wrench in the works of the 'Hana/Shannon/Lyrica/Marie' was thrown by fucking Selen Tatsuki of all people by saying one of the members wasn't a singer and were nervous about recording.
We know 100% that Lyrica is Millie and it's very likely that Reimu is Marie given her JP competency and laughing at Petra's Spanish, but what's interesting is that people can't actually agree on Shannon being the mommy fox or the higher pitched bird. If Shannon is the bird, then it means Hana didn't get in and there's an unknown person playing the fox.
Yeah, I've been lurking /vt/ since they were announced, and while a lot are confident that the four predicted were correct, there are a few that don't believe it. I never watched Marie and I've only heard Shannon's singing so I'm not familiar with their talking voices. We'll have to wait until they debut to know for sure, since the one liners in the teaser usually sound a bit different to how the livers actually sound.
Maybe Selen was just confused? It doesn't seem like Hana did many karaoke streams and she doesn't have any actual covers up on her channel. Maybe she talked to Selen and mentioned being nervous because she was
inexperienced in stuff like that and Selen took that to mean she hadn't done it before? I know Hana had opera training or something, but that sort of thing is different to singing into a microphone to 1000+ people in a karaoke, or editing and mixing vocals for a cover.
Or maybe Selen is just a gigachad troll that knew that all the girls had already been figured out and decided to make /vt/ squirm. Wouldn't put it past her, honestly. That's all I can think of. I just can't imagine the bird having a singing voice like Shannon's, since I recall it being quite deep. I also find it unlikely that Hana isn't the bird, since the surname is the name of a french song about plucking feathers off a lark. Hana knows french, iirc.
I wish I could catch the debuts but they're at a shit time for me, I'll already be sleeping by the time they happen. The boards should be interesting to look at when I wake up and watch them, though. It'll either be smug anons or a fuckfest. As much as I hope Hana is the bird, I'm hoping for the fuckfest.
The bird is fucking adorable, no matter who's behind it. If she has a good personality I might have a new oshii. Seems she's the least popular though in terms of pre-debut subs, with the ghost in front of her by a bit and the fox and cat being tied right now and a thousand subs ahead of both the others. People think she's a bit overdesigned apparently, but I really like it, the bird has been my favourite design since I looked at the application in july.
I'm going to laugh if, in true Ninisani fashion, they just took some random with a perfect voice for the fox. I'd fucking die, actually. Low key, like. Or maybe a 2view indie? We don't really pay attention to the graduations of them, and Niji is known to accept people with little to no experience, and with smaller audiences if they did do stuff. We may not even have a vtuber on our hands at all. It's probably reasonable to think too, since the designs have a theme to them. You don't want to release half of a set, so maybe Niji had to settle? If they didn't get many auditions for the fox, or the ones they did get didn't have the right voice, maybe.
