Phil acting like he is such a badass that he wasn't "scurred" is hilarious.

People don't play scary games to flex how immune to fear they are, they play them for the rush and being scared.

Phil treats them like some sort of "i'm not a pussy" challenge. Constantly talking and making stupid jokes to keep himself from being afraid, and then acts all high and might infront of the people who said they were scary.

Guessing this is just another insecurity of Phil's that he parades around as a trophy.

I used to do this with scary games too... when I was 8.

Phil is desperate to come up with reasons not to play Metroid. This twenty years thing is completely incorrect. Metroid games that have come out after Fusion:
Metroid Prime (released same day as Fusion)
Metroid: Zero Mission
Metroid Prime 2
Metroid Prime 3
Metroid Prime Hunters
Metroid Other M
Metroid Federation Force
Metroid 2 Return of Samus (3DS remake in 2017)

They weren't all winners, but the series ain't dead.

I would argue (ha) that it’s been dead since Prime 3.
Prime Hunters no one ever talks about
Other M killed it for like 5+ years
Federation Force was shovelware
M2RoS was a typical Nintendo cash grab after they DMCA’d a nearly-complete fangame after like 10 years or something only to push out their own version that was worse in every way to the fangame.

It’s been nothing close to 20 but it’s been kinda dead for a while.
Not as bad as F-Zero or Star Fox tho

He said HIS FANBASE doesn't like metroidvania games, blaming poor viewership on why he never touches them. And said viewership totally has nothing to do with him constantly getting lost because he has the attention span of a gnat.
Hollow Knight is a game his (true and honest) fans have been asking him to plays, it won a nomination for his Rage-a-thon and his chat was having a great time while he was playing it. But Phil still tries to argue that if he did a full playthrough people would get bored. And he was visibly getting bitter and salty throughout.

From my understanding no, he "really digs them" apparently, he has also said that he loved Other M, even though a lot of people seem to greatly dislike that game, so make of that what you will...

Yeah that's the one, when Samus is talking to that character Adam, what's funny actually is that I thought he said it to that Anthony Higgs character (who's actually a black guy), but nope he said it in response to that memory sequence between Adam and Samus. So not only did he drop a racist (more like heated gamer moment but anyway) insult, but he used the joke improperly given the context of that cutscene. Pretty normal for him when you consider how many jokes he threw around about stereotypes before he started to tone that shit down.

Eh, at least M2RoS has some great bosses(especially the last one). Still, it does look pretty bad when AM2R outdoes it in almost every way.

EDIT: Wait Phil really said he likes Other M? The game so shitty it killed one of Nintendo's most acclaimed franchises for years? Jesus it's like his taste gets shittier every day.
