Obviously we don't know the extent of the amount of hand holding chris got at PVCC, but people forget there was a window from 2007 - 2012 where Chris could've still had a normal life if he'd just stayed away from his computer and thrown Sonichu in the trash



Chris' definition maybe, but you may actually know people who are high functioning autistic, but they've been able to adapt and overcome it so well they never figured it out. Tim Burton wasn't suspected off having autism/aspergers until much later in his life when people gave him a description that matched his childhood behavior.

I doubt Chris would have ever had a life that many might consider "close to normal", not after his parents took him and ran to Richmond because they thought the school board wanted to institutionalize Chris due to not understanding the difference of a mental asylum from a school specialized in educating children with severe mental and behavioral issues. Had the Chandlers stayed in Ruckersville and allowed Chris to attend a school specifically equipped to instruct kids like Chris, THEN he might have had a shot at a relatively normal life. But if Chris had just stayed away from the internet and prevented himself getting rooked by trolls, his life likely wouldn't have become the utter shit show it is now. He likely still would have had the same boundary issues with girls, likely still would have had many of the same legal problems, likely still would have had many of the same financial issues, likely still would have had some of the same behavioral outbursts (like hitting Snyder with the van and the Blarms pepper spray incident)...but he probably wouldn't have trooned out, probably wouldn't have thrown himself headlong down the delusion path of Toon Town dimensions/Mutant Hedgehog and Pokémon polyamory/My Little Pony-Jap Cartoon-Video Game-Obsolete Personal Computer goddess like he did. His life likely would have been much happier...at least, until Barb died and he found himself evicted from a foreclosed 14BC and homeless on the streets. Really, after Barb and Bob fled like fugitives with Chris to Richmond to avoid getting him actual help for his condition, Chris never really had any hope of a happy ending for his life. Since that day he was pretty much destined to either jail, homelessness, or an endless cycle of both (like he's facing now).

The idea that being able to talk is the only thing separating "high-functioning" and "low-functioning" autism is incredibly shallow. To quote

High Functioning means mostly normal but odd, i.e. was into things outside his age group and gender or a obsessive repetition of high value facts without understanding them but a abillity to join the dots (i.e. rainman level brain), I've read a intresting paper about how this might have been the driving force towards hygeen in some early cultures i.e. clean your hands before skinning the goat, clean your hands before touching food etc.... They where considerd at the basic level low intellect jobs you'd give to the nice but stupid guy i.e. basic processing and when they talked to each other they glommed onto washing hands as a way to avoid painful knicks and infections.

When I got my license my high school actually offered a full driver's education course that included coursework, driving simulator, driving range on school grounds with actual cars including one specially modified to replicate going into a spin on ice or other slippery surface, and driving practice on public roads and highways. When I went through my final driving test I had to demonstrate my knowledge of the vehicles various functions and features, demonstrate my ability to safely navigate traffic on surface streets and the freeway while also obeying all trafic rules/laws, abiding posted speed limits and other instructions from road signs, my ability to safely signal and merge/change lanes, demonstrate that I regularly check my mirrors, all while the instructor in the car quizzed me on traffic laws and rules, provide answers to various scenarios, and would question me about my surroundings to make sure I was paying proper attention to where I was and what I was doing. But I'm an old fucker and this was back in the mid-90s, so things might have gotten a lot more lax since I went through driver's ed.

I took a driver's ed course with my high school around 2000. We didn't have any fancy stuff like a car.

Our simulators were a bit old. The class took turns using them, there were enough for half the class. They had a wheel that didn't do anything, and the speedometer was two seven LED displays, like the ones used in calculator displays just not as many. Everyone would look at a prerecorded, reel to reel film of someone driving slowly, projected on a pull down screen at the front of the class. When you were told to look behind you, you could turn to look into a mirror, which would show you the same screen at the front of the class, except the camera angle had changed. It wasn't a particularly authentic experience.

I remember the narrator from the film would say things like "accelerate to 25 miles per hour" like he was telling you to floor it.

When I was waiting for a simulation to start one time I pushed down the gas pedal. The speedometer maxed out at 73. Being the devilish hacker I was as a teenager, I turned the key and found I could then increase it to 74.

I only know how juvie and PA prison libraries work. In PA, in order to avoid the drug thing, they have an actual library where any prisoner can check out whatever they have, and request certain things if they don't -- but with limited resources, they can't quite make it based on good behavior, but they won't try hard if they hate you, naturally. Obviously they don't stock it with everything, and in the case of PA, they don't even have e-readers because $ , so all the manga and anything remotely porno is checked out asap 24/7. Juvies are required to have textbooks and reference books used for graduating, for obvious reasons. Most highly checked out (at the time, haven't checked in in the last 3-4 years) was The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness. Take that as you will.

I'm 99% sure Chris COULD get other religious or lawbooks materials, probably even some copies of Twilight (come on, who doesn't want to see him get it, thinking it's about MLP Twilight Sparkle, only to go down some weird fucking sparkly vampire and/or werewolf rabbit hole???) You obviously didn't bother reading what I said. I was only referring to Chris' chances at living something of a normal life. I wasn't passing the blame for Chris life choices or where he's at onto his parents or anyone else. Even paraphrasing would have been more normal. He didn't cite the Judas passages. But he sperged his multiple titles like a sped. I'm just not sure he actually had the bible on hand so much as copied someone else. I did try reverse engineering ways to get that passage via keyword apps, and nothing. Either I'm not smart enough to think like Chris (horrifying, I know), he truly did it on random (????), someone else was doing the prosperity gospel schtick (likely), or he was able to read the Bible and still came out with that passage out of hundreds of others about Jesus saying give money to the poor, when you are good to beggars it's the same as being good to Jesus (would be the easiest for Chris to construe in his favor of "I am Jesus!") The various easy incest points, the love is most important, or literally anything about Job etc.

He didn't even cite passages about Jesus healing the sick, Lazarus, being jailed, OTHER false arrests etc. Yet he referenced them, so yeah. That's why I doubt the inconsistency creates an illogical conclusion. But it is possible, and I delight in being wrong. It keeps me from getting bored.

Definitely possible he was writing in the library, and couldn't take the bible back with him though. That does fit. Though I'm still surprised he didn't cite a psalms or something. That shit is almost as tangled as astrology so you can read almost whatever you want from it.
