You do know why its really called black friday though right? back in the early 70s a philly chief was interviewed about the phenomenon of chaos happening during the shopping day after thanksgiving. He replied that everyone acted like a NIGGER black on that friday.
TIL. A quick search didn't yield any sources that outright said black = nigger, but they certainly describe the behavior. I suppose I'll believe you, since the first few links I clicked seem to try to imply that BF is BF because it's dark/grim, or because of employee availability blackouts, but they refuse to actually say "Black means X".

It's sad how I can't tell anymore if I'm being trolled or if history has been erased.

The stores seem to be having some issues around here. On a side note, has pet food been added to the shortage lists? It seems to be in short supply in alot of stores nearby

Apparently people have been making runs on TP and paper towels in stores near me. Is there someone out there cranking these people up again, encouraging them to run and hoard?

Went grocery shopping tonight. No shortages of anything. I still can't get Belvita breakfast bars. Amazon never shipped my order. Trying a third party seller.

“Black Friday” got its name from the accounting term “black” - meaning to be making a profit. It is the opposite of “be in the red”, which is to run a deficit.

Idiot zoomers should really just stop talking.
No. Nobody knows where it got its name. All we have are urban legends about accounting and niggers, which keep getting repeated by the sort of people who can't accept that some things are unknown, and who need a consistent narrative explanation for everything they encounter.

Maybe they heard about flooding and want to have plenty of paper towels to soak it up?

I don't want to be one of those people that notices that some small article will be written about things and then they miraculously happen, but it's 2021. Just keep yer eyes open.

I heard it was because of all the black eyes that the pleb mob dished out among each other in trying to get the most cheap shit.

No, I want them to give up on redesigning the car every year and just let a vehicle production line run for 5 years. The Jeep Wrangler would run for a decade or more before making revisions to the vehicle, there hasn't been a drastic change in technology from 2015 to 2021 that requires a total remake of each product. Americans are just going to be forced to understand that this hyper-materialistic shit HAS to end and longer runs of products are the future. There is no point in making brand new iPhones or Android phones, the hardware has effectively ended its growth period and very few upgrades lately have occured in CPU speed and ram size, if we actually halted "growth" there would be an immediate change in the software side to code with performance in mind rather than just adopting the adage "memory not used is wasted."
Most manufacturers do let generations of their models run for at the very least, a few years. The thing is within each generation, small, incremental changes are made. Lexus is known to have very long model runs. The second gen GX has been on the same chassis for almost 10 years now. The NC Miata had a similar run from 2006 - 2015. They usually do this because the existing platform can be improved in some way, which I think is fine. No first model year car is gonna be perfect from the onset. There will be teething issues, TSBs, sometimes major powertrain recalls, that are all revised and refined through the generation run.

I do agree with your point about phones though. The tech in them has kinda stagnated and people who always buy the latest are just plain wasteful.

Saw this on reddit and decided to clutter things up over here with it. A plan for being self sufficient on 1/4 acre. Kinda interesting.

Dont know because I'm not a farmer but all the tech and science guides on that reddit are bullshit so I'm gonna doubt about this one.

It's a updated version of the ones from the John Seymor books on the subject, they are tried tested and solid they just did it in a square and tried to update it around the edges.

I'm planning on doing something similar myself once I manage to get my own rural property.

Food shortages dont just happen because countries happen to run out of food. They happen because the country is more invested in exporting food to other countries than having any interest in their own country.
Do you think the people in charge believe in putting america first? really? after the last few years?
You'd need Mao-tier economic control to pull that off. Or will corpos collectively go full Joker Mode and simply ignore the domestic market out of spite, despite the fact that they would make a killing by selling food there?

Your results may vary, but my parents always told me they called it that because the crowds were so dense it was as if everything was blacked out.

Speaking of coal, I wonder what would happen if the Centralia fire got too close to an underground oil pipeline. Reckon that's something TPTB have thought of or are they ignoring the possibility?

and I always heard Black Friday called that because of how much money the shops made that day. I don't think it was meant to be taken as an unquestionable truth though, just a lil' hyperbole.

Ah, niggers! The gift that just keeps on giving.

Got fuck all to do with what you're talking about (or maybe it does), but this gave me a chuckle when I looked it up again:

Say what you like about niggers, but a fall like that would have broken any huwhyte man's back. This nigger just gets back up, climbs back to the top of the roof, and does it all again!

That's the only narrative I need!

Shieet!

Every day is Black Friday for these fucking baboons.

ETA:

This is the first time in my lifetime I have not been able to buy Fairy washing up liquid to do my dishes. Or any other kind of washing up liquid. Used soapy tit-wank handwash instead. Don't go as far.

There's probably a lot of other things I've run out of as well that they don't have, but I just haven't noticed yet. Washing up liquid is a major one though. We are now down to about 20 percent of the whole fucking store being out of stock. I've never seen this in my lifetime, let alone my 10 plus years of living in this place. Got a feeling it's going to get worse.
