So let me get this straight, the actual name they gave her is Crunchyroll-Hime? Like the character's name is Crunchyroll-Hime? Like Crunchyroll-Hime is the given name of the anime girl mascot VTuber? .......but why? Why not give her an actual name?
I'm not against the idea of corporate mascot VTubers, but it seems like they'd be more restricted and have less room for creativity, especially if they just treat her as an advertising vector (which the name makes me think they are). Like imagine this Crunchyroll-Hime starts talking anime and hating on an airing anime that Crunchyroll (the company) is pushing hard on advertising for -- never gonna happen.
Also, regarding the earlier discussion about what would happen if they replaced the voice actress behind a VTuber, I think in the case of a mascot that's the only space where replacement would actually be likely.
VTubers live and die on personality more than any other factor though, so maybe they'll strike gold with a unique and entertaining personality that makes up for the possible shortcomings, or maybe some other corporate mascot will in the future. But I already regularly watch like 20+ unique and entertaining personalities with a fair amount of freedom in their content.
