So let me get this straight, the actual name they gave her is Crunchyroll-Hime? Like the character's name is Crunchyroll-Hime? Like Crunchyroll-Hime is the given name of the anime girl mascot VTuber? .......but why? Why not give her an actual name?

Thats always has been Crunchyroll's mascot yeah, shes appeared in comics that i think were also done by Merrywether (could be wrong), its just a genero stand in for the company thats nothing special beyond being more or less a logo or part of its brand

I'm not against the idea of corporate mascot VTubers, but it seems like they'd be more restricted and have less room for creativity, especially if they just treat her as an advertising vector (which the name makes me think they are). Like imagine this Crunchyroll-Hime starts talking anime and hating on an airing anime that Crunchyroll (the company) is pushing hard on advertising for -- never gonna happen.

Also, regarding the earlier discussion about what would happen if they replaced the voice actress behind a VTuber, I think in the case of a mascot that's the only space where replacement would actually be likely.

VTubers live and die on personality more than any other factor though, so maybe they'll strike gold with a unique and entertaining personality that makes up for the possible shortcomings, or maybe some other corporate mascot will in the future. But I already regularly watch like 20+ unique and entertaining personalities with a fair amount of freedom in their content.
I, for once, hope that western media do us Vtuber community and have an actual troon as their Vtuber mascot so we can accurately gauge the community reaction.
This actually might be a sort of interesting case study to watch on now. It says she going to stream every Tuesday and Thursday, I'm really curious how much content they going to get out of her because in my eyes it really cant be that much now if your a mascot for anime now, ill give it a month see how it goes.

Also for fellow TTRPG peoples we just started. For the loading BGM we have like a Kiara Metal Cover I think? Sound fucking sick

CRHime doesn't sound like some funimation VA like those horrible Rial and Marchi, but then again I don't watch dubbed stuff.

I missed the first 5 minutes of the TTRPG stream, why is everyone cardboard today?
I think it something wrong the the model software they use, apparently it been acting up when adding quite a few people. So instead of constant fixing mid stream they kept it cardboard today.

What if one of NijiEN gen 4 is Zentreya using his actual voice instead of that shitty text-to-speech? Would he actually be worth watching then? I don't watch Zen so I don't know how entertaining he is, the TTS hard filters me, and I don't watch VShojo, but there's got to be a reason he can pull almost 3000 viewers average even with the setbacks. Maybe he'd get a model that doesn't look like dogshit then too.

In other news, is anybody else looking forward to them? What type of streamers do you want if so? I'm hoping for somebody that makes content like RTGame's style, basically a male Pekora. Maybe somebody that plays an instrument and sings well, and a speedrunner for good measure so we actually get somebody good at games. This is the first corpo EN male group I'm aware of, so Niji will want to play it safe. We'll probably get guys that are already vtubers or anitubers. I seriously hope they're being careful with the selections, there are a lot of creeps out there.

I swear to fuck though, if that damned leech Raelice gets in I'm shooting myself in the head. I don't give a shit if I'm British, I'll find a gun somewhere. Or just any of them ''how to SMASH the [insert corpo] auditions!'' vtubers in general really. I've seen a few of them in my recommended over the past year. Absolute shit.

Zentreya's whole charm is their TTS, for better or worse. It isn't for everybody and it's not really for me either, but the amount of visual humour Zen pulls off is pretty unmatched, and the chat they've cultivated isn't bad at all.

If Zen somehow joined NijiEN with his real voice he wouldn't have anywhere near the same appeal, and old fans wouldn't recognise Zen as Zen and leave it be.

I personally believe ItsNickster has applied and joined. I don't know why and I have no evidence to suggest he has, but I think a Master-level APEX autist who has already collaborated with V-Tubers and knows his Nijisanji may be tempted to try his hand.

He has 12.5K YouTube subs and his stream VODs typically don't reach 1K views, middling-but-not-Watson-tier Japanese, and is generally pretty decent in front of the camera. He's networked with Froot, and has been acknowledged by Bora and Aqua. He'd be a retard to have not at least thrown his hat in the ring.

Because it's a HoloEN collab.

Is Yuul B. Alright male or female? I honestly don't remember.
Female, but with an androgynous appearance (actually kinda reminds me of the art Nagu used to represent herself).

Calli is making thinly veiled references to Insane Clown Posse during her TTRPG shtick. God help them.
That veil is getting thinner and thinner! Pretty much nonexistent, now that they're at the carnival -- there's a bunch of dudes walking around with facepaint and no shirts, and the musical act at the carnival will be the "Mad Jester Clan".
Chat clearly gets it, I'm not sure how many (if any) of the players actually know of ICP though.

Anyway, I decided to watch Nina whilst I finish off some work and...she's actually not so bad now. The 'honey' shit has been significantly lessened and she mentioned that it's a verbal tic when she's nervous. She's also really well-versed in her weeb shit.

I still much prefer Enna and Millie, personally, but a rampant spergout notwithstanding, she could go on to capture a huge, totally different audience as is ordained by Lord Tazumi.
Honey and potentially politard roommate aside, Nina does seem to be bringing new things to the table. She seems more zatsudan-oriented (at least for now), fairly sure she's the first corpo Vtuber to speak near-fluent Russian (already pulling in Russian viewers into the chat like Botan), and I'm already seeing mentions of STALKER/Darkest Dungeon and potentially Crusader Kings 3/Civilization V, which you don't really see a lot from Vtubers.

I wonder how Kronii's civil war plans are coming along. I hope she becomes EN's Pekora, personally.
