Gallagher is one of the worst ones. She does so many FTMs and she is absolutely using the fact that she is a relatively young and pretty woman to make these girls feel like they're in safe hands with her and that's she's non-threatening, unlike those middle aged male SRS doctors. Ironically, I bet a lot of these unfortunate looking, obese or socially awkward FTMs wish they were her. It’s been already said but stopping people from self destructing is incredibly hard in most cases. Some mental issues are so complex that even what would technically be a *bad choice* could help.
Which is just another thing that goes to complicate the trans question even further: could srs work when nothing else did? Is this one of the reasons why it’s so widely accepted (beside the obvious economical reason)?

the question isn't whether they use less resources afterward, but whether they continue to self-harm. most people with mental illness will use the appropriate resources for their illness, their entire lives- this is the way most of them manage to function, or to survive. mental illnesses are a disability and not things which can be immediately cured.

the physical damages from them can be slowed or stopped, though. a depressive will always need medications or therapy, most will need it their whole lives. whether or not they attempt suicide after a first attempt is a different metric.

I think she’s a good candidate, she’s not just a butcher, she’s a TikTok/social media/attention addict, and she is essentially grooming young teen girls. If anyone deserves that next-level like Rumer, I think it’s her

I like how she mostly focusses on FTM surgeries, as they are just as bad and perhaps even worse than the MTF ones when it comes to complications. The number of revisions some of these people get for their fleshtubes and mutilated arms is insane and I had no idea. A lot of FTMs seem to use tiktok for their propaganda instead of reddit, so I commend TT Exulansic for biting the bullet and lurking there to gather the relevant material.

She's also a former Trans (or current if you ask her, I suppose) she formally lived as a man, refused the surgery and was pushed out of the community. She says she's in recovery and that gender atheism saved her life.

I didn't realise her practice is (wo)manned exclusively by pretty 'Staceys'! There is something really wrong about conventionally attractive, thin, and happily feminine women making money of butchering immature young women who are struggling with their (not conventionally attractive) female bodies and role in society. It's downright sinister.

That gap is not terribly unusual for a surgeon. Plastic surgery usually takes 6 years of training post medical school and she might have been getting some additional training after that.

Edit: yep, eight years of training. That's not very unusual, a lot of surgeons don't really start their careers until they are in their 30s because there is so much training involved.

I am compelled to do this both because having a more complete, better curated information than the pro-troon sites on a shitposting forum is hilarious and like @cuddle striker says the way those doctors are able to get away with impunity while doing whatever they want is both fascinating and horrifying. Every kinda plastic surgery disaster is interesting but disasterous plastic surgery being treated as life saving health care paid by the public just takes it to next level.

On that note, I wanted to ask if you guys have more info on the zero depth vaginoplasty because it seems to be one of the ones with least documentation and even that has no kinda standard operation, apparently some people says it still has a "dimple" to look like there is a hole, but there's doctors that don't do it and leave the perineum alone too, plus the surgeons say the exact opposite of OP that it's not as good, Bower's site in particular say only surgeons with no confidence in their skills would suggest it and it's a red flag if they do and you should choose a better one lmao

One thing I am interested in but haven't had time to do (and I am not sure where it would fit here, in any case) is a collection of potential long-term risks and harm from both hormone therapy and transgender surgeries (not just SRS), a list of the most common complications, etc. For example, that cognitive decline study that came out a while back where the authors pretended that the elevated cognitive decline they found in older transgender people must all be due to 'transphobia'. Not only is there limited study being done (because who wants to risk their career?), none of it is actually collected anywhere.
