General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

We know for a fact there was a company involved with Uto. Whether or not they were chinese though is still up for debate as they tried their damnedest not to let out who they were.
Oh yeah, edited my post to clarify that (it's definitely a believable rrat though, given how shameless they were while trying to leech from Hololive's success).

I would reckon this is the main reason we haven't gotten a Gen 6. Cover's just full of work and they never had enough staff, not even in the early beginnings. EN2 became a priority because it earned so much attention world wide. Cover must be happy about the status quo but other agencies are playing catch up.
There is nothing that makes more noise than a fresh new product. With that said, are we getting a new batch of JP's anytime soon?
A glance at the sheer amount of job listings for cover corp, including a listing looking for recruiters to handle mass recruitment, would seem to support what you are saying, that they are still mostly focused on catching up on scaling up the behind the scenes stuff.

Outside of ID3, which probably costs less than Yagoo's suits to run, could Cover have correctly saw the plateau and shifted focus? Whereas others like Nijisanji are still throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks? Right now they have a wall covered thick, and the wall isn't getting any bigger.

You mean Kana?
I thought she ghosted her even before leaving Tsunderia, and Kana even said she felt like Nachoneko only cares about Gura, her popular daughter,

Warabeda karaoke stream
After Gura's second costume, I don't know how anyone could believe that.

Weird opinion:
Part of the reason why cover has done so well in the EN/Global market is that their name is short, easy to remember, and English. Other companies have long and/or Japanese names like Nijisanji, Hoshimeguri Gakuen.

Also another reason is Yagoo himself. He is very much a face of the company, like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, the Remington "I liked the shaver so much, I bought the company" guy. Other companies don't seem to have that from what I've seen

To balance the sweetness or fiery antics of recent block game streams, have some Suisei seethe (+Suinglish):
AFAIK she was the only one without a planned or unplanned EN collab on her first visit.

Kanata, Sora, Pekora too. I bet there are a few more.
I probably forgot or missed some, yeah, but Kanata had moments like getting PTSD from Baelz mentioning blue axolotls in text chat and trying to cover up the corner melon, which I counted as unplanned. Sora was also hanging around at the time.

That room. Filthy degen otaku.
Not like anyone thought otherwise.

It seems Hololive (and maybe the vtubing world in general) has finally platoe'd. You can see that in the subscriber numbers. There used to be a big subscriber milestone or two every week, now we haven't beraly get any. The growth of EN2 was also much smaller than anticipated.

Since the exploding popularity of Hololive that lasted for a good year Cover has been really busy organizing and filling up the schedules of the current Holomems, not only the popular ones but pretty much all of them started wanting to do more and more. More concerts, sponsorships, events, play new games, etc. With EN1 came even more challenges.

I'd like to know what world you live in that Gura earning 40-50k subs per week is plateauing.

The JP side seems more interested in shoring up the less subbed members than trying to push the higher subbed ones further. I can definitely feel the concerted efforts on Mio, lots of collab streams where she's the only viewpoint.

you see, people have been predicting Vtubing "plateauing" for almost a year now, so now any slowdown whatsoever will be claimed as "see look the plateau is happening"

Are we in schizo meteoric rise mode like we were this time last year? no of course we aren't

But Vtubing overall is still growing quickly and healthily, Hololive EN2 isn't skyrocketing as fast as EN1, but they are still outpacing anyone else in their market by a long shot overall.

Even Nijisanji where everyone so commonly gripes about their debut speed is still doing great, Niji I would say is doing even better than they were this time last year. Their latest JP wave was a hit, and EN is paying dividends for them.

I think folks just have their perceptions skewed by being holocentric at the time of Hololives greatest growth period and now anything less than that and suddenly it's "the golden days are over, the plateau is here"

Just because it's not growing at turbo speed doesn't mean it's not growing quickly, Just because you can't personally follow every single chuuba you want doesn't mean it's saturated If the market were really dying down and oversaturated Nijisanji just wouldn't be dropping waves like they are, they aren't retarded, they're doing it because it keeps working out for them, if it weren't they'd shut it down (NijiIN anyone?)

A good first step for most people would just be to stop using hololive as your baseline because it's far far far far from the norm and has been for quite some time now.
