This is one of the many times where I have seen George Takei position himself at the forefront of the troon defense squad. What does George have to gain from doing this? Both him and his husband have spoken out about Dave Chappelle’s “controversial” comments.
I suspect that George Takei is divorced from the reality of troon ideology. He is a married, older gay man. So, I’m assuming that his interaction with younger LGBT individuals and modern LGBT culture is severely limited. If he was a younger, single gay man who has to navigate through troon ideology and troon entitlement in the current LGBT dating scene, then he wouldn’t be nearly has supportive as he currently is.
I imagine that it is easier to be pro-troon if you’re a gay person in a long-term relationship and you associate with an established group of older LGBT people. You, unlike younger gay people, had the luxury of going to popular gay/lesbian bars to pick up gay men and women instead of men in dresses and testosterone infused women. Additionally, before troon ideology was on full throttle, you probably had the luxury of being able to use gay dating apps that were filled with sensible gay people instead of troons. Now, dating as a gay woman or man is frustrating as hell because apps are filled with mostly troons and “genderqueers” with a few
spicy straights, unicorn hunters, and the straight people on gay dating apps who are searching for friends (wtf) sprinkled into the mix.
Lol, I realized he had a website after my MATI rant and I see what his deal is. He’s trying to portray himself has an SJW with major social media influence. So, being a troon enabler is certainly going to make him popular with the Twitter (and Reddit) crowd.
