Phase Connect's cofounder Scott is the one with the cash, he had a tech startup called Pinmo that was acquired for 13 million maplebucks and now works for the acquiring company Requiti as the Head of Operation and Consultation. Kevin aka fishman was the Chief Marketing Officer at Pinmo.

Irys is such an adorable dork.

So she was a PNGtuber for well over a year, and then got a 3D model (probably one of those build-your-own), and now "re-debut" with a Live2D. If nothing else, gotta respect the hustle, starting so early before VTubing really exploded, and sticking with it the whole time.
Super cute design of course, and rigging is pretty great too IMO.

Sakana is about what I expected - a rich Asian that decided to make his own vtuber company for entertainment, with little care for whether it loses money in the short term because what is a few ten thousand in the negative when you have millions in the bank and get a lot of fun in return.
Likely same story as Gyari, who made Voms because he didn't have any vtubers that he liked and thus decided to create his own favorites.
Just that the richer fishman can afford more vtubers, better rigs, and more generations, plus get folk from around the world instead of just his home country.

Not gonna lie, that's half the reason I'm watching, to see if she'll say "faggot" or forget a bleep or whatever. But if she did slip up, I must have missed it.
It's honestly super impressive that she's able to (mostly??) keep up with her family-friendly homegrown replacements, she must have practiced a ton off-stream. She has to have been familiar with the original song for years, and unlearning is usually wayyyy fucking harder than learning.

As of now, Calli's finally done Rap God up to her own standard (which is higher than mine and most viewers' standard, I'm sure).

Yep, "babiniku" is the operative word in their Youtube's About page. It's pretty specific and unmistakable, basically means "dude with a female avatar" or something along those lines.

if you just want to get caught up on the "civil war" arc it basically just formed out of a single set of streams with Fauna Kronii and Ina.

Someone edited a pretty good supercut of it that's about an hour long if you'd rather not watch the full streams which were several hours.

Papa Pako has been great, he fell hard into the rabbit hole. He watches a ton of Sana of course, but I've seen him in Ina members-only streams too. I think it was the Back to the Future watchalong.
Kinda wonder how many memberships he has and how many streamers he watches.

This reminds me, Marine posted a member-only text post about a day ago, she's a little down and misses streaming. I hope this is the last time her health gets in the way for a long time. Personally I'm handling her absence by listening to Unison at least once a day.
