If the officers know that the person will shoot them then there will be multiple officers at the location and they will break down the door and throw a few tear gas canisters into the room and tell everyone to get on the ground. Since there would be children in the area the would use excessive force to take Melinda down and Marshall if he's in the same place. This is done due to wanting to protect the children. Children will be traumatized, but that's on the criminal, not on the police. You should never threaten the authorities.

As far as the question of whether her posturing could be legally actionable... I doubt it. It's obvious that she's just posturing (lying). I don't see that it rises to the level of an imminent threat. Not yet anyway... it's hypothetical. If Null actually won a judgement, hired debt collectors, and they contacted her telling her they were going to show up, and then she threatened to shoot them, that would be different; it'd probably rise to the level of a true threat, because at that point she'll have threatened specific real people (not hypothetical people) and the threat would be imminent.

That being said, it'd be absolutely justifiable for the cops to take these threats seriously enough to show up and question her. She's claimed that she'd shoot first, ask questions later if anyone possibly linked to "kiwifarms.net" comes knocking on her door, and she's claimed that she's set booby traps on her property to injure trespassers. Making those statements isn't illegal, but actually carrying them out would be entirely illegal, and therefore the cops would be justified in investigating them.

Oh, and it'd be justifiable for CPS to investigate, too. One of her piglets could end up in those bear traps. If I actually gave half a shit about her crotch goblins, I'd be genuinely concerned. I don't for one second believe that the bear traps exist, but again, if I cared, it'd be prudent to take the threat seriously enough to verify it.
