Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

It just hit me who Biden reminds me of: Weyland in Prometheus, after he comes out of stasis. I can't be the only one who see the resemblance.

it's not a good look at all; Weyland's refusal to consider any opinion but his own doomed everyone. Also, he was a decrepit old man, long past his prime and overdue for his eternal home six feet under.
He reminds me of the reverend in Poltergeist 2, TBH.

That whole Remain in Mexico thing is proving real popular with the progressives. Of note: there's no sign that the admin is trying to convince Mexico to reject the deal, in fact talks seem to be proceeding quite smoothly, and the DHS is already issuing contracts to build facilities near the border for immigration hearings

Activists Walk Out on Meeting With Biden Admin Over Remain in Mexico Program

(article) (archive)
Dozens of immigration activists allegedly walked out of a virtual meeting with Biden administration officials on Saturday morning in protest over the White House’s plan to restart the Trump era “Remain in Mexico” program, Politico reports.

The advocates read a statement accusing the administration of “playing politics with human lives” ahead of a virtual meeting with multiple officials, including people from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the White House Domestic Policy Council’s Esther Olavarria.

Activists allegedly said they could no longer “come into these conversations in good conscience.”

“We have sadly reached a turning point,” they said, before most of them exited the video meeting, Politico reported.

“I cannot stand one more meeting of them pretending,” Ariana Saludares, a 40-year old advocate from the New Mexico-based Colores United, told Politico. “They give us accolades on the outside, but on the inside, we’re having to take out the metaphoric knives from our back,” she said.

Top immigration enforcement officials in President Joe Biden’s administration said late Thursday they’re prepared to restart the border policies enacted during the Trump administration in November, provided that Mexico agrees to cooperate.

The Biden administration has made “substantial progress” towards the re-implementation of the program, formally known as the Migration Protection Protocols (MPP), government lawyers told a U.S. judge in Texas. DHS has been holding talks with Mexico, finalizing operational plans required to re-implement MPP, preparing immigration courts, and issuing the contacts required to build hearing facilities near the border, they said.

“DHS anticipates being in a position to re-implement MPP by mid-November—dependent on decisions made by Mexico,” the filing stated.

The program centers around making asylum seekers wait in Mexico while their claims are heard in the United States.

Mexico said in a statement on Thursday that it has been in communication with the U.S. government over immigration but did not specifically mention the MPP.

The “Remain In Mexico” program was launched in January 2019 under the Trump administration and was widely credited by proponents for a decline in illegal border crossings.

Mark Morgan, who was acting commissioner of Customs and Border Protection at the time, told The Epoch Times that the MPP was ”the most significant game-changer” and largely responsible for a 75 percent drop in such crossings.

However opponents, including Democrat leaders, have argued that the immigration system needs to be completely overhauled, and have slammed the MPP as “inhumane” and “dangerous” to illegal aliens who they claim would be at greater danger of exploitation by cartels and criminal organisations in Mexico.

MPP was swiftly suspended by Biden on his first day in office in January, along with several other Trump-era immigration policies.

Illegal immigration has shot up under Biden, topping 200,000 apprehensions at the southern border in both July and August. Numbers for September still haven’t been released.

Although DHS issued a memo ending the program in June, a Texas-based federal judge ruled that the MPP must be restarted and placed an injunction that required the department to work in “good faith to re-start MPP.” DHS appealed that injunction but was blocked by the Supreme Court in August.

In September, DHS said it intended to issue a new memo scrapping the immigration program, despite the Supreme Court ruling that it was to be reinstated.

DHS said that, in the meantime, it would continue working in good faith to re-start MPP in compliance with the Texas judge’s order and is engaged in ongoing diplomatic talks with Mexico.

The department noted its commitment to building a “safe, orderly, and humane immigration system that upholds our laws and values,” stating that it will continue to process immigrants in accordance with U.S. law.

A White House official told Politico that “the Biden Administration has been very clear that MPP is not an immigration policy we agree with or support. That’s why the Department of Homeland Security immediately appealed the court injunction once it was ordered.”

The official added, “We are incredibly thankful and appreciative of the work immigration advocates and organizations do around the clock to improve our immigration system.”

Saturday’s virtual walkout comes amid increasing tensions between activists and the Biden administration, with activists telling Politico that they believe some White House officials view border issues as a doomed issue for Democrats.

“I think they’re afraid of the backlash of anti-immigrant groups, and we’ll continue to remind them that that backlash will exist regardless of what they do,” Luis Guerra, the 32-year-old strategic capacity officer at the Catholic Legal Immigration Network who walked out of the meeting Saturday, told Politico.

“We don’t actually believe they’re doing everything in their power to actually restore asylum at the border, the way that they say that they’re trying to.”

The Epoch Times has reached out to the White House for comment.

Bill was responsible for NAFTA and the destruction of the American middle class. He was absolutely a shitty president.
Fair point. Anyone who gets the job is required to suck globohomo cock. At least Bill threw a few crumbs to the working class so maybe 1% better than Bush or Obama.

Putting the fact that he's the POTUS aside. How dementia robs people of their intelligence and articulation is quite disturbing. It literally erases a person. The contrast between his old speeches and his recent ones is depressing.
Dude he's severely impaired. When the Soviet Union was winding down they had one demented old dolt after another leading the country. Does this remind you of anyone?

Why did the politburo put demented old men on the top seat in commie Russia? For exactly the same reason that the DNC put Biden where he is.

Hey, progtards - stamping your feet and crying till your face is blue might've worked tons of times when you were a kid - and hell, it's most likely worked quite a few times now. But your President's standing is on the line here, and no amount of "OpEn BoRdErS!" and "ThInK oF tHe PoOr BrOwN PeEpLe!" is gonna work this time. Sucks to suck. :)

@Oxous

Well kodos to Biden for one thing done right in the mess he made, if its actually like you claim it is.
I am inclined to believe it'll go steady. The sheer flood of migrants is far more of a hindrance than a boon to the Democrats even at the best of times. Right now though? It's a massive, self-inflicted wound they can in fact fix mainly by just doing whatever Trump was doing, since his policies were liked, agreed upon, and thus it was his capital spent. Does mean absolutely dooming congress till the midterms at least.

A relatively surprising development: Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell's four-year term expires in February 2022, with his only real competitor being Lael Brainard, the only Democrat on the Reserve's Board of Governors. Brainard among other things repeatedly donated to Clinton's campaign in 2016 while being on the board, despite being supposed to be apolitical. Biden was thinking about promoting her to Treasury Secretary last year but decided against it - at the time she said that she would prefer to be Fed Chair, but wouldn't reject the Secretary position. Brainard is a member of the progressive camp and is buddies with Elizabeth Warren, who is making a habit of trying to get Federal Reserve officials purged for insider trading or frontrunning.

Given the heavily establishment/business faction slant (as @Gehenna would put it) of the Reserve then, the future is obvious: Powell will get the honor of wrecking the American economy for four more years. Right? Nope. The progressive magazine The American Prospect just leaked (archive) Jerome Powell's trades made on October 1, 2020 - where he sold somewhere between $1-5 million dollars of stock. More damningly perhaps, he's holding between $5-25 million in SPY ETF shares, an ETF which is very obviously influenced by what the Federal Reserve does.

Why is October 1 and him selling stocks on that date significant? Well, that was the day before Trump announced he had COVID. On that day Powell was also in contact with Treasury Secretary Mnuchin 4 times, pressing Trump's admin to introduce more fiscal stimulus. 5 days later on October 6th he gave a speech saying that failure to introduce that stimulus would have "tragic" economic consequences.

Given the recent trend of multiple high-ranking officials in the Reserve being fired in disgrace or forced to resign, and with Warren in particular putting in overtime on the Reserve, this probably means nothing but good things in the future of Brainard. Her odds of becoming Fed chair just increased massively in betting markets:

TL;DR progressives making moves to try to take control of the Federal Reserve, normally a very conservative institution but also very powerful and it has gargantuan influence over the monetary system

A number of replies are parroting "Powell had cancer!" even though Cain also had cancer or Cain chose to be unvaccinated when public distribution had been made available at the time of his death. And a lot of the comments are proving this guy's point.

Yep already watching the spin. He has cancer which prevents the vax from working! Then why is everyone required to be vaxxed regardless of medical history?

So are we going to call it the Colin Powell Award when some vax faggot gets the coof and dies?
I wish i still had a reddit account to make that.
