what are the chances faith tried to get pregnant on purpose to trap ralph? "not actively trying but not using protection" sounds like it could mean pulling out (sorry for that mental image) and if there were any times they did use protection she'd have multiple chances to sabotage that as well. her already existing "baby fever" plus fear of abandonment could lead her to such a drastic decision. faith knew he was sleeping with other women and needed leverage over them. she was clearly planning to be with ralph long term and he expressed early on that he did not want to have a child (encouraging an abortion). i do not think xander was originally intended as a spite baby but i think ralph just took that and ran with it. now though he has to keep up with it because he has a trad audience to pander to. tough spot gunty
I mean Ralph messaged Vickers about how he was trying to get Faith pregnant before she was, and I think he even messaged and lied telling Vickers she was pregnant weeks before she actually became pregnant so I think he was very much aware of what was happening.
He didn't really have to announce it to his audience (or tell anyone for that matter) but he was able to spite Vickers and the alogs as soon as it happened as well as get pats on the head from his paypigs.
At the time Faith was still "OK" with the idea of May moving in with them, it was as soon as she refused the threesome and moved out that the baby and Faith became more trouble than they were worth, and he suggested the abortion.
If Ralph had really been against having a kid he could have prevented it from happening, and could have given Faith an ultimatum then and there to get an abortion or leave, the text showed she still believed they were going to be a family even after she moved back to CA, so Ralph (at least at the beginning) must have gone along with her idiotic fantasy of a gunted family. Plus she seemed deranged enough to have done whatever Ralph told her to do.
I also think the new baby is also a spite baby because the retard still has no idea how much work a baby would be (because he's had zero to do with Xander) and wanted to spite Faith/Vickers/everyone that criticized him, again. "Re-rolling" and failing the stats check.
I for one look forward to what could be one of the most chaotic (and probably horrific) gunt sagas, the coming of the real demon baby and how unhinged Ralph will be with a newborn around to alog him constantly (if he is not in jail by then or May leaves him of course) hopefully he does not shake it to death
