Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

To be honest? I can get close. I've got a lot of really weird skills that I can dust off, a lot of them are like riding a bike.

I'm not a prepper, I'm a survivalist. Big difference.

I won't like it, but I'll get used to it.

EDIT: BUT, I will admit, probably 99.9% of the USA isn't in the same boat. Nobody ever taught these people how to can, how to make jelly, how to preserve food, how to butcher livestock and game, how to fish and then clean & eat the fish, how to make a garden, how to start a fire, how to keep 3 cords of wood dry and seasoned, how to keep a wood stove running. Most of them would have no clue how to check the levels on their well or why a big washtub should be in everyone's garage. Most people in the US don't have the room in their homes or storage areas like I do and don't even have any idea of what they need to survive, much less how to get it and how to use it.

Similar boat. I have enough of the skills that I could get by on my own for a while, with a few other people, we could... not thrive, but get by. I can build a cabin with a year's time and hand tools. I can run a forge. I can smoke meat, I can can vegetables. I can hunt, I can fish, I can trap, I can garden, I can forage. I've got a rifled flintlock that I can still shoot like the country boy I grew up as, and I know how to make powder from the ground up, if I have to. Even the nasty steps.

In an actual survival situation, the first thing I'm doing is packing as much as I can into my truck and heading away from where I am. Where I am is not conducive to survival, and I'm socially isolated in a bad way, the climate is shit, and the soil... isn't. I have at least two options for better places, where I have a social circle that can slot me back in and I can reach either in 24 hours with minimal stops. I own my house free and clear here; it's equity I'm prepared to write off if I have to.

When you get older you're more likely to accept ridiculous claims and ideas than when you're younger when you have a sound mind and more prone to reject stupidity.
Uh, no? Usually it's the other way around. Unless you're talking about claims about MIRACULOUS NEW TECHNOLOGIES THAT CAN HELP YOU AVOID DEATH FOR JUST A LITTLE WHILE LONGER.

No. I'm talking about more when the elderly face cognitive decline. Before that change I'd agree the elderly are more resistant to changing their beliefs (or early youths buying into dumb ideas before learning necessary deduction skills) or buying into ridiculous ideas they didn't already hold. Once that happens though, there is no path of resistance once their brain is basically fondue. You take into account most politicians in our country are primarily elderly and even the right wing are adopting some progressive beliefs (bar the middle aged/early elderly: 50-60 who seem resistant to such claims) and I could feasibly see it being a thing.

Ok, ignore the tranny part of this.

How and why the fuck are public health officials given admiral status? Even before this.

Apparently this has been happening for over a century now.
Apparently it's a separate service with the department of health and human services that has military ranks for some reason. They're undoubtedly laughed at by the real military.

For the same reason NOAA has a commissioned officer corps, so they (allegedly) get Geneva Convention protections when they're operating in a war zone.

Never saw any of those people during my 20 years-plus on active duty. The only place I might possibly have seen any of them in uniform would have been Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, not that I gave a shit anyway.

Hmmm.. You know although I usually endorse the idea most of the democrat speakers were just major grifters or had Chinese brainwashing done on them... Maybe it's simply they are primarily old and younger dems pushed these nonsensical ideas on them. When you get older you're more likely to accept ridiculous claims and ideas than when you're younger when you have a sound mind and more prone to reject stupidity. That still doesn't explain the younger democrat's being total nutjobs pushing this insanity though even if that were to be the case.
yes

look up video of Pelosi announcing the immigration deal in 2017 in SF

a bunch of young activists come in and freak out and she is totally unprepared and completely spooked

Seems really optimistic, tbh.

Blue Texas is a meme for a reason, and so is Red Cali.
Once you get outside of shithole NYC, you'd be surprised how red New York State gets. Even Suffolk county, which has Nassau as the NYC buffer, is pretty conservative. Once you get to upstate NY, it's pretty much all red with a few exceptions. The only problem is nearly half the population lives in NYC proper, and once you count the pozzed metro area, it's over half and enough to cancel out the conservative part of the state.
