Seriously if you need survival food on the go, pemmican is the way. Energy dense, nutritious and lasts indefinitely.

Pemmican instructions

I personally recommend ghee for a fat/protein/energy dense food substance you can keep in house. Canned ghee is the bomb.

I'm all stocked up on condensed milk, canned ghee, flour, rice, beans, sugar, etc. Pajeets may be street shitters, but they've been having to cook for ages with ingredients that must stay fresh without refrigeration.

I'll add that an indian/halal spice profile is also a great way to ward off infections and keep your leftovers longer, as most of the spices they use are preservatives/anti-bacterials.

Good idea. Definitely worth it.

As a side note, I’m seriously confused at the amount of idiots who are afraid the power will go out or something and they won’t be able to use their precious microwave or oven. I don’t mean if you are traveling or on the run obviously, I’m talking about the people who are at home. Get yourself a small portable grill and some cheap camping gear (hell even the latter is optional). Don’t have charcoal? Nigga, that’s what wood is for.

Sorry for the small rant, it just bothers me that humans seem to have forgotten how to survive as a species.

Lots of people get killed, there's really no other way to put it. Hell, we could wind getting a new flag at the end of this, or maybe the country breaks apart, I dunno. I say this as someone who is considered to be one of the more optimistic posters on this site, food shortages are trouble that only competent leadership can effectively deal with. We don't have that right now, and we won't have it for another few years at the earliest.
They could just quietly waive the emission chip requirement for the trucks until the chip shortage is fixed if it gets too bad. I doubt even Greta Thunberg acolytes would bother complaining about it under the circumstances (unless Trump did it of course). The only way to fuck this up is to wait until the last possible second to do something like this, due to the delayed reaction.

Also, I remember predicting that the Powers that Be would end the Wu Flu, muzzle the riots, and generally make everything look just perfect after Biden won in order to score a massive propaganda victory. I guess if they were that competent, people wouldn't have voted for Trump to begin with.

There is not an 'emissions chip.' Common rail diesels need computer control to run. It's not just chips Kenworth can't get switches for the dash of new-built trucks right now. Last I heard there are over 200 trucks sitting at the Kenworth factory in Renton waiting on various parts.

For trucks that already have the DEF system installed, it's hardwired into the starting system, as far as I understand it. The trucks won't start without the properly functioning part telling the ECU how much DEF is in the tank.

California could waive the rules on the emissions requirements for the trucks as an emergency order, so older trucks can come to the ports. But this is something that Gov. Newsom would have to order, and I wouldn't trust that slick dickhole to do the right thing for the good of the nation even for a single day.

What to buy that does not need refrigeration or cooking? Worse case scenario meaning, get in the car towards PA to escape the diverse hords from NE NJ and NYC. I live near both a state and interstate highway that connects NYC to PA.
Get a little camp stove and some gas for like $50.

TBH though, if you're near New Jersey and NYC and there's actually a food shortage for longer than a week or so, you're already dead. Sorry, you shouldn't have been a city fag. NYC has like 10 million people. If the shit hits the fan for real those highways are going to be blocked and there are going to be criminals marauding around with hand guns, hitting up cars for food.

And yet they do it all the time in the military, ag, and other businesses. I learned to drive truck at 12 shuffling trailers around the family business. Plenty of kids learn to drive massive rigs for the family farm, and the military is more then happy to teach 18 year olds to drive tank transporters which are the equivalent of the oversized load lowboys.

I thought BOOmers were ultra rich buying all the houses and fucking college girls.

Pick one already.

Those folks are doomed. DOOMED if there is an actual prolonged food shortage. People don't realize you need like 30 pounds of beans and rice per person, per month. When you stop eating out completely your burn rate on food is insane. As calorific as frozen pizzas are, they're nothing when that's all you have in the house.
That figure sounds insanely high for beans and rice, but a pound each of dry pinto beans and dry white rice comes out to roughly 2,500 calories. Slap my mouth, I never did that math.

Still, that's all of 2 cups, so 4 cups per person per day, and you'll be able to keep on living,

2 cups of dry rice, 2 cups of beans per day gives you

2,772 Calories
6.8 g fat
558 g carbs
108 g protein

That's not balanced by any means, but it's not insanely off track. You won't die quickly eating like this.

If you're figuring a farm laborer working your ass off, you probably need about

3,000 calories
45% carbs
20% fat
35% protein

So that comes to
338 g carbs
66 g fat
260 g protein

Beans and rice will keep you above ground, but they're light on protein. Toss in three cans of tuna in water, and you're at 231 g protein and 22.1 g fat. The fat is still too low, so add 40 g of Olive oil. That's, of course, 350 calories oil and 660 tuna, so you'll need to back off on something.

Right now I'm looking at
2 cups pinto beans
1 cup rice
Three tablespoons olive oil
4 cans of tuna in water.

That puts us at
3,280 calories
400g carbs
259 g protein
66 g fat

So that's still 100 g more carbs than an active man needs in a day, but it's not totally ludicrous, and the other macros came out nicely, so I'll just go with it.

To prepare 30 days of this ration, which will make you fat if you aren't seriously working hard getting your peasant life going, you'll need

3.75 gallons beans
1.875 gallons rice
120 cans tuna
1.5 quarts olive oil

So, in conclusion, you can stick that in your closet. It's not as bulky as it sounds.

Bear in mind, I'm not saying this is a good meal.plan or even a good "emergency stock." I was just trying to calculate what would get one person through one month of doing something besides sitting around all day.

Well I'm 55 miles west of Manhattan and 45 miles west of Newark. And literally encircling the metro area, in the millions are our 'fellow Whites' at about 15 miles. So you can be dam sure the National Guard will lock them in.

Lot's of farms in my area. Since the US is a major exporter of food I doubt actual famine here will be a problem. It will be in other nations.

However, I'm thinking of a more nasty Mel Gibson kind of political terror situation where roaming gangs of diversity are a problem. Perhaps instead of stocking up on foods with calcium, zinc and magnesium, I should make friends with those that have stocked up on lead.

I have no concept of what any of this means. I've literally never lived within 1,000 miles of a city with more than a million people, and I really do mean literally here. You may as well be telling me you live on the moon and showing me a map of where the moon men live.

In the US? Probably never, as shit as the economy is for the US I don't expect the food to disappear, sure some staples will be scarce but the bulk of it will continue on. Meat will start getting very expensive. There is just so much farmland in the US that it will never be an issue, even if chemical based fertilizer has production issues you can still throw piles of cow shit everywhere. The only pain point I can isolate would be seed production, many of the crops Monsanto sells to farmers do not propagate seeds and farming beyond the "Old Mcdonald had a farm" level requires bulk seeding via tractor, if seeds don't get produced hooo boy get the gun.
available farmland doesn't matter
if it did, southern Africa would be paradise
most of the US will be ok because most of the US is full of sensible armed people

Relatable. I've lived in Toronto and Vancouver in the past, but almost all of my life, I've lived at least 500 miles away from anywhere with a population that's 6 figures or greater. Urbanites and suburbanites don't understand rural life. Like at all.

Based Siberia or Greenland fag

Montreal is probably technically like 995 miles away. If you want to measure from there in a circle on Google maps you could probably figure my approximate location if you really want too. Not like it's a secret. It is an island, but not Greenland.

*Edit* Fuck it. I don't want to derail the thread with a guessing game.

Apparently the 9th most isolated city with a population of over 100,000 in the world. TIL

Smallest one on the list too. Barely qualifies.

The major problem in the Us would be who transports the raw food and who processes the food. From what I understand is that those jobs are in high demand but have few takers. So if no one produces food despite an abundance of raw material you might get a "famine". Heck I have read about pig farmers who couldn't sell their pigs because the meat processing companies didn't have the capacities to actually make meat due to Covid restrictions
