Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

She's just doing her job. My last executive officer was a captain, a black lady. She got shit done. VERY professional. Asked me to mentor her, which I gladly did. She put on my retirement ceremony. She could have worked for me any time, anywhere.

Being a drill sergeant/drill instructor/military training instructor is one of the hardest jobs in the military. Enlisted people go through basic training once. Your drill sergeants go through basic training every X number of weeks. They go through a tough training school and must work within frequently-changing regulations and directives. These drill sergeants are evaluated on the job by more senior drill sergeants, their first sergeant, and sometimes their commanding officers.

They have the job of taking largely undisciplined civilians and turning them into soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Space Force Guardsmen, and Coast Guardsmen. Those who are out there "pushing troops" can work hellacious hours, always expected to be perfectly groomed and look great in their uniforms. Drill sergeants can change uniforms several times a day on a hot day. They'll get the salt stains out of their campaign hats by putting a little rubbing alcohol on the stains, which brings up the salt to be brushed off. These men and women have to be able to handle any emergency a trainee has at any time. You can bet many, if not most drill sergeants, have had to deal with a recruit harming themselves or even committing suicide to get out of the military.

Not all drill sergeants are volunteers. Some can be put into the job involuntarily, making things even less pleasant. This lady may not have wanted to be a drill sergeant. Not all drill sergeants finish their tour successfully, for various reasons. That's one job I sure wouldn't have wanted to do. I was an instructor for several years, but an academic instructor. MUCH different, even though I wore the same instructor "cookie" on my uniform as a military training instructor. About the only places in the Air Force where you might see officers as military training instructors would be Officer Training School and the indoctrination schools for Medical Corps/Dental Corps/Judge Advocate General Corps/Chaplain Corps. But you would also have NCO military training instructors there, too.
I don't really have much to add to this, but I can give an example of someone who had to be a drill sergeant and hated it, not to mention you'd never expect them to be a drill sergeant in the first place.

Bob Ross. Yes, THAT Bob Ross.

If anyone cares, an update on Virginia and 2022:

"Younkin should be winning by 6 points, but because he wanted to distance himself from Trump, he is playing chicken with lowering the rural margins to not get killed in the suburbs and cities. It's very close because of this."

Republicans close strong. Many are swinging to Youngkin at the 4th quarter.

Biden is hilariously underwater in Virginia, more unpopular than he is nationwide. He is in the 30s of approval with Independants. He is dragging 2022 down with him. Virginia is only close because Biden voters are having massive regret, causing a 10% to 15% slip in his base of support.

It's going to be near impossible for Democrats to keep the House in 2022.

Cost of living is quickly if not already issue #1 in blue states. Jobs and the economy are #1 overall. COOF is a distant 3rd and falling fast.

Personally, Virginia is still leaning D, because Fairfax, the Dem stronghold announced they will withold counting any vote totals until everyone else reports theirs! Anyone hate these reruns of the same bullshit?
Ooh, was this Rich's new podcast?

I would be curious to see whether the Dominion-sponsored ads have been effective at depressing, even temporarily, the rural vote. We have gotten swamped with "the NRA hasn't endorsed Glenn Youngkin" ads that are like something you'd see in the Republican primary. Instead, they are actually a leftist PAC that runs them. And Dominion, not the voting machines, but the state's electric company, spent $200,000 to fund them. When it got reported this weekend, they demanded their money back and said they had NO idea they were funding such things.

The leftists always swear off Dominion money because everyone in the state hates them and Dems especially hate "fossil fuels." But they always take Dominion money under the table, and it's likely they worked out some quid pro quo and Dominion is now acting outraged over something that doesn't matter anymore.

My read on it is that rural voters are going to turn out. McAuliffe is a known, hated entity, and even if they're unhappy with the larger GOP, Republicans want a win. They'll hold their nose, and Glenn doesn't really have any negatives that would make any Repub really wary of him. Glenn has run a smart, local campaign that avoids all national issues. Trump talk distracts from that, and it's arguably the biggest mistake McAuliffe has made. Virginia wants to be D.C. when times are good, but not when D.C. is represented by Biden.

But Fairfax County STINKS and is already telegraphing they're going to turn in their votes at 4 a.m. Sigh.

Also: I don't see how abortion and vaccine mandates have to hinge on the same right to privacy tactic. Abortion restrictions prevent an action, essentially allowing the status quo to proceed. Vaccine mandates demand a particular response from people who absolutely do not want to do it. It just seems like there's a negative/positive valiance here that delineates the two. Or if I'm a teacher, I can be asked to refrain from saying the n-word but can't be compelled to say a pronoun. They're completely different kinds of rules. But that's just my commonsense take, I dunno if the Supreme Court is about that kind of stuff.

And the red districts haven't announced they won't be counting any vote totals until Fairfax has locked in theirs because why, exactly?

They don't change their playbook. Why the fuck hasn't anyone taken the most basic steps to react to it?

"We're not going to let you know our numbers until we see your numbers so we know what numbers to give you" is defeated by "we won't give you our numbers until you give yours first, you soy filled niggercattle faggots." At which point it goes to the state legislature to hash out -- no, not the courts, as the courts do not have jurisdiction over this -- and they get a chance to undo the blatant vote fortification.

"We found more votes after submitting our original count" is defeated by "Sorry, the final vote tally was already counted." At which point, again, it goes to the legislature, and they simply counter with "ok, full audit with signature matching for every vote in your district."

They don't change their playbook. Hopefully the next time they try the magic 4 am votes bullshit there's a reaction other than "well, if we're losing, we have to do it with dignity..."

That would be disastrous because then you'll see the DNC quadruple down in flooding states with illegals to swing the governorship and from their have an even greater stranglehold over the Senate

The legislature is where the Senate is chosen in this case. They would have to flood every State Senate and House district, which would be met with constant gunfire from the red area locals because it would be necessary to do so to even live.

Also, if the gov’t has the power to legally abolish the 17th, then we have enough state and federal authorities backing the President to allow him to respond to the swarm of illegals with artillery, media screeching be damned.

You have to admire the chutzpah of rerunning the same trick twice.

Also Ameriburgers objectively lost any moral ground to criticize elections in other countries after 2020 and what Fairfax is doing is simply reinforcing that lack of moral standing.

Absolutely. I was livid during election night, seeing our electoral system being turned into something that wouldn't be out of place in a banana republic.

Bob Ross. Yes, THAT Bob Ross.
I'd never heard he was a DI. I know that he decided when he left the military he didn't want to do ANYTHING that involved shouting at people.

Which is fine.

So THAT‘S how he came up with „beat the devil out of it“. To be clear I totally could believe it, someone like Rob been a Drill Sergeant it must have grounded his views on behavior and attitude way more than any liberal college could have done.

Call us when you want to win a war.
Not to be mean to our military farmers here, but a serious X to doubt on this one.

87% of a crew doesn't know or think to push a button to stop a fire isn't something that instills me with a lot of confidence that they can handle an actual fight with another ship.

Call us when you want to win a war.

There you go, no ifunny watermark on that one.

Seriously though, I just grab them off Google.

Feel free to hang with the GWOT crowd.

Just remember to like, subscribe, and buy their book/coffee/tacticool shit.
Never has a subtitle fit a gimmick poster better

If I told 18 year old me what was happening I probably would have spent my money on other resources and started farming years ago, meh.

I don't know how we ended up in this (one of the) worst timelines, I only know, Something changed it, whether it was divine intervention, prophecy fulfilled, 2012 apocalypse crap, or that people sometimes slip into alternate dimensions, mass induced coma psychosis, etc. either way we're stuck here now.
Oh, for the days I only had to worry about extremists at political rallies. Sad thing is, my big problems are now out in the country on a property I bought to farm lumber. Just farming don't work anymore. Crazies want cheap land too.

Lost a baby aircraft carrier because they never learned how to fight a fire and because, of course, the taxpayers can always buy them another. Bubba Bill is at death’s door, maybe they’ll name the replacement after him? Never let a crisis go to waste!

the Democrats at the time didn't want Al Gore due to him being outside the Democrat cabal at the time, whereas Bush was in the Republican cabal.
Wait, GORE was an outsider? Could you go into a little more detail about that please?

Maybe that's why I haven't heard from the man outside of "climate change" in the last 20 years.

Gore was only an outsider in the same exact sense that Obama was an outsider, intelligentsia turned no name senator turned most popular candidate among the yoots. The only reason Obama didn't end up like Gore after he slayed yaaaaas qween is that the Dems were actually tired of losing, and the election of a black man would be historical.

He is the greatest thing Tennessee has exported. Now he’s EVERYONES problem. I don’t know if he was an insider or not but his daddy was an avowed racist who was part of the Tennessee Democrat machine. I believe Gore Jr got his seat because of his name and daddy’s connections.

More or less this, honestly:

He was a no-name senator, a vice-president of absolutely no repute, kept outside of anything actually important so much so he was caught flat-footed to find out Bill-Fucking-Clinton was fucking around. The dude was a mushroom, kept in the dark and fed on bullshit his entire career. He was an easy pawn to sacrifice because he brought absolutely nothing to the table, while also being an idealist who might be difficult to control on certain topics.
