I'm in Europe, but someone had the radio on at work the other day, and a local (private owned) station was advertising a "science discussion" program they have, where they have "scientists" on to discuss various topics in a, uh, scientific way or something, reviewing latest peer-reviewed publications and such. I don't think this really needs an edit - it's enough that the fat guy is drawn in a standing pose in frame 2. Reads a bit differently if you assume the water is waist deep.

The LoRa modulation protocol is actively being used in the RC hobby right now thanks to the ExpressLRS firmware for radios. I've installed it on my quadcopter and plane and can confirm it's pretty awesome. I used to worry about range and it's basically a non issue now with the antenna setup and area I fly in. I haven't done any range tests, but using only 100mW I have no qualms flying past line of sight. Basically, can confirm LoRa is awesome. Low power and high baud over long ranges is a win win.

I work with people whose ability to grasp the outside world is pretty diminished, so I was un-surprised that I had to explain over lunch one day that China's real estate market was going tits up, 2/3rds of the country was without power, alongside India, fuel was going through the roof and that the global supply chain was breaking down.

The looks of utter confusion on their faces signalled that when the crash hits (I'm hoping in the next week) that they're all going to freak the fuck out and panic. I'll probably head to the pub one last time before I'm prevented from drinking at restaurants.

I wonder who will fuck it up worse? Your idiot Prime Minister or ours? The upshot being that no one will give a shit about this pandemic until the ADE kicks in hard.
