I have been consuming some of the Lotus Eaters content over the last few weeks and a few things have stuck out to me.
The first thing I noticed is how readily they fall for
obvious troll bait posted online. There are multiple points in the linked story where it becomes painfully apparent that it's fake, but I guess it speaks to either the quality of the trolling or the gullibility of Sargon that they still decided to run a whole segment about it.
Something I can't work out is where they really stand on different issues. So the gays and trannies are taking over the Western institutions and diluting biological reality -> they want the Tory party to get more based and clamp down on this kind of thing -> but at the same time they are proud that the UK is a really liberal and accepting country where people can do whatever they want -> so fuck all these shithole countries doing bad things to the gays! That would never happen in glorious Engerland! -> but oh no, gay people are actually doing what they want. There was a gay couple in an advert! Based tories, help!
Another example is where they've built up this narrative over the years that the British Empire dindu nuffin', they were just exporting infrastructure to the rest of the world bruv, and by the way - the world might have started slavery, but
we ended it! Yet they are also keen to call out 'imperialist' attitudes in
some videos when a) Britain's involvement in foreign policy gets more hands on than they'd like or b) the chinks do pretty much anything in the world.
Some might call all this 'nuance' and a 'balanced opinion' but it seems more like a weird form of political schizophrenia.
Another thing that sticks out is the awkwardness of his co-hosts. Say what you want about Sargon himself (and there is
a lot to say), but at least he's generally a good orator. This latest chap they've got sounds like he's on the verge of a mental breakdown, all because a couple of UK retailers are throwing the nigs a bone this month by doing a buy one get one free on their jerked chicken meal deals:
His secretary, Calum (who literally calls himself Secretary of Akkard on Twitter), seems to have only four modes: smugness, bewilderment, the SEETHING FACE OF DISGUST, or bursting into laughter like a lunatic. He also has a terrible habit of spoiling whatever Sargon is just about to talk about, which Sargon himself keeps calling him out on.
The audience has its fair share of sperging too. When the Scottish comedian, Leo (probably the best co-host they've had because he's actually funny),
joked about how a Malaysian tranny was hot, it triggered a range of reactions in the comments:
The duality of the Lotus Eaters. For the side that's apparently championing free speech and declaring comedy is dead, they sure don't seem to be able to take a few jokes by a literal comedian. Even some calls for...
cancelling him over the things he's said that went against the hive mind. These are the same people that will tell you with a straight face that "the left don't value diversity of opinion!".
