There is no way in hell I'm pulling my pants down in front of a bunch of strangers at a pharmacy. Already weird to get a flu shot with all those eyes on me.
The best place for any muscular injection actually is the upper thigh (and slightly to the right). That makes me wonder if it would be safer (relatively) to get it in the buttock rather than the arm. Less vascular.
is that why epi-pen is injected on the upper thigh? The best place for any muscular injection actually is the upper thigh (and slightly to the right).

It is more practical than the buttocks for self-injection. You can sit down and do an injection carefully without awkwardly twisting for the buttocks. It has lots of muscle tissue and is not very vascular. Away from nerve centers. You don't even need to pull you pants down, just bring shorts and pull them up.
It's also a godsend in a hospital enviroment. I imagine having to turn over a deathfat or recently operated patient to his back just to get to the buttocks.
Yeah, epi-pen is just a cheap autoinjector with the epinephire. Imagine trying to reach around your behind to get the damn thing in your ass while you are having an allergic episode.is that why epi-pen is injected on the upper thigh?
Societal implosion. By behaving like totalitarians for something akin to bad influenza a lot of western governments/media will have burnt a lot of goodwill with citizens. At this point the economic issues alone (which are set to get sooo much worse) are going to cause big problems. If it turns out the mrna vaccines cause ADE then it's going to get really dark.So what are your general thoughts and attitudes towards the future, as in 5 - 10 years from now? Are you feeling optimistic? Doomer? Like things are really going to go sour? I've been talking to a lot of people I know personally about it and I've been pretty surprised by how many people have an optimistic outlook on the semi-near future. Even people I know who are usually total doomers.
Though common consensus among all of them is that it'll definitely get worse before it gets better.
Who knows? At what point do they stop pushing this idiocy?A better vaccine will come out as our understanding of the mechanism of action of the virus increases. Wheter we'd have to take a shot yearly from now on till we die... I dunno. But masks and lockdowns won't be making it past 2022. Then again, christmas is close, and you know what that means.
That is my concern as well - if wider society as a whole doesn't fall apart the boot will stomped down harder and harder. If that actually boils over into mass populism at the ballot box, I'm very optimistic. If it ends up being contained it's going to get much worse.
I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop at this point, and I assume the upcoming crash will probably kick off that shift. Can't even tell what's gonna happen a month from now these days. It's clear that either things will improve by half a mile or the world as we know it is gonna go bust and those nations which didn't go nuts will divide up the spoils of what's left. This current stage of things cannot last. It's utterly unsustainable in every way, especially economic. But that's for another thread.
Unless the current focus is given a sudden and drastic shift, like if China decides to sling one of those nukes it apparently flew around the world recently, thing will only continue as they are until something gives, better or worse. I'm pessimistic about the world but optimistic personally. Just because the house is on fire doesn't mean we have to burn down with it.
Thanks for the reminder, I'm in the same boat. The only vaccine that could compare to that is tetanus, which only begins to degrade after a decade or more, but provides full immunity up to that point. Also you aren't shunned from society if you don't get a your booster every decade.
Which reminds me, I'm actually due for that...
Pretty much this. The whole thing is less about realistically handling a low fatality respiratory infection and more about punishing those who refuse to comply or those who poke pretty obvious holes in the narrative. And again, I have to keep stressing this because you apparently aren't getting it: you aren't treated like a pariah if you don't take the flu shot. The government doesn't try and force you into conformity if you don't take the flu shot. You aren't excluded from society if you don't take the flu shot.
-be a healthcare workerIt's also a godsend in a hospital enviroment. I imagine having to turn over a deathfat
Not even the government really knows when that shoe will drop and how hard it'll fall. Hopefully everyone here makes it through or there's some kind of turning point.Societal implosion. About the virus? Optimistic, if not outright indifferent. So what are your general thoughts and attitudes towards the future, as in 5 - 10 years from now? Are you feeling optimistic? Doomer? You already have antibodies. If you bend the knee once then you'll bend the knee forever, mate. You have to understand that it won't end with just one jab or three. The more ineffective the vaccines prove against further variants the more jabs they'll demand you to take, and each time it'll come with the exact same ultimatum of "get the jab or you'll starve jobless".at this point it's looking like I'll be forced to join them and begrudgingly comply with The Joker and Big Daddy Government and get the jab.
It's not just *this* job, but pretty much most options in my career field. Even if I basically fall out of my current gig and write-off ever working for feds like USFWS or USGS in the future, the fact is virtually every private conservation entity is marching in lock-step, and the few that aren't are going to be hell to squeeze a position out of...You already have antibodies. While pushing for everyone to focus on treatment rather than vaccination, and while sharing all verifiable info with everyone about the potential dangers of the Covid vaccines as they currently are, we also need to prioritize our continued livelihood. That means we cannot allow ourselves to endanger ourselves to the notion of capitulation. As I said, if we kneel even once then we won't have a leg to stand on (heh) when they want us to do it again and again.
It's easier said than done, but you especially know that you simply don't have the weakness nor luxury of cowardice to give up. You're not a coward and you're not weak. If you were then you wouldn't be angry about how things are, you'd just duck your head and shuffle along. So you can't, and you don't have to; the current state of affairs is utterly unsustainable but our qualifications, experience and expertise is lifelong. Even if we have to shuffle boxes for rent money for a while, things will inevitably have to take a turn, and when it does we'll be able to return to our profession because of our licenses/degrees/experience/etc.
Or there's gonna be WWIII with nukes speaking Mandarin, in which case caving to pressure would still be pointless.
TL;DR Please find another way than just taking the jab for your job. You have antibodies, and even that aside, you wouldn't be doing it because you feel you need it. It would be one thing if you wanted the jab because you felt convinced about the Covid vaccine. That'd be your choice for your health, but you can't imbibe stuff into your blood just because people are threatening you with being forced to live out of a cardboard box, man. It's one step away from "get the jab or be fined", and then "get the jab or be imprisoned for endangering public health/welfare". None of us can afford to let it go like that.
Seriously, it's better being a supermarket greeter for a year than to set such a precedent. Please find another way, for your own sake if nothing else.
You sure that wasn't a pre-existing condition? It tuned me gay and I feel gayer than ever.
>Frostpunk is a city-building survival videogameGuys, I'm asking this question unironically and not to derail. What do you guys think of the game Frostpunk, in a philosophical sense? Genuinly curious. I'm sure you can see the parallels.
Careful. Depending on where you live that could be an actual federal offense. Either way, no one knows what options you really have but you. Still, please find another way to go about this other than getting the jab.I'm running out of options besides from a convincing forgery to buy me time
If your buddy doesn't have an addictive personality, Valium and ibuprofen should do the trick to aliviate the symptoms imo. (Oh, and make sure he doesn't have kidney or gastrointestinal issues).Welp it happened, friend who has a family was more or less coerced into taking le reddit ouchie to keep his job. He's not a big political guy so he didn't care one way or the other short of the inconvenience. Got the second pfizer dose, and now is having intermittent chest pains. Describes it as if "someone is sitting on my chest". Sometimes nothing, sometimes he wakes up and can barely get out of bed. This has been going on for a week and a half; he got the second shot on the 9th.
I've already told him to go see a doctor in general and ask about myocarditis, specifically. But what else can he do? I recommended he buy a bottle of vitamin D3 from the grocery store and just superdose that shit for the next month, but I've also read that NAC is useful?
He needs to go to a doctor. No dose of vitamins will help him with undiagnosed heart inflammation or damage.Welp it happened, friend who has a family was more or less coerced into taking le reddit ouchie to keep his job. I'm not sure how they're calculating those numbers from the data. This seems like scaremongering until I see their methodology.I don't really know what to say about it but I ran into this and felt I should dump this here for consideration.

A comparison of official Government reports suggest the Fully Vaccinated are developing Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome
Latest UK PHE Vaccine Surveillance Report figures on Covid cases show that doubly vaccinated 40-70 year olds have lost 40% of their immune system capabilittheexpose.uk
Official government-released documents from the UK are displaying concerning metrics concerning the vaccine and waning immune-system effectiveness.
We've really lost something as a society by having the generations isolated from one other. I personally known several people in each category up and down, and you'd be surprised how open oldies are about how much shingles will fuck you up and what it does to their day-to-day routines when it flares up.Or herpes, which lurks in your nervous system after its initial infection and likes to say hello years, even decades down the line.
Here's how I see it: The risk to me, personally, is in the inflammation caused by the COVID-19 spike proteins (where they bind, and where they accumulate). Why on EARTH would I want more of it?Ultimately it looks like the vaccine injury risk is tied to the dosage amount, Moderna's dosage is much higher than Pfizer's.
