Here are the columns written for the 1980's mode rivals from the third week onwards. (A)
Bear in mind that these are all published and anybody can read them as soon as they walk in the door.

Nobody in the entire school was apparently interested in watching over the library until Honami came back.

Sumiko is better at almost every physical activity than the male students. So much so, she stays clubless because everybody else would slow her down, according to whoever wrote the column.

Ritsuko is the heiress to Chikanari Industries, a company that supplies raw materials that the Saikou Corporation uses for their products. After that part, the column straight up gossips that her father bribed the head master to let her enroll because her test scores were too low, and that she doesn't intend to do any school work during her time there. All in a "this
totally isn't gossip and this column
totally doesn't reflect anybody else's views, but..." kind of way.

Ai wants to be a singer, yadda yadda. then it mentions the rumor that she only enrolled at Akademi to launch her career. Apparently,
this rumor is just cruel and whoever is reading should go ahead and support her, unlike with Ritsuko.

Teiko wants to be a teacher and as such, was teaching abroad before returning to Akademi. She learned multiple languages and is apparently more qualified on certain subjects than some college professors. The reason she came back is because she wants the "high school experience."

Komako is insanely popular to the point that the author says that if you don't know who she is, then you must have hit your head on a rock. She's smart, humble, all that good stuff. The author and the other students like her so much that, unlike with both Ritsuko and Ai, everybody decided to respect her privacy when she vaguely explains her absence as "family business" and not pry her for details (or start rumors apparently).

Chigusa is a celebrity, an extremely popular gravure model. As such, she's the center of attention and all the men at school like her. There are "theories" (read: rumors) that she only enrolled to do one photo shoot before ditching the school.

And guess who gets the most attention out of all of them? Sonoko, the junior detective, that's who.
Summary: After figuring out a serial killer's cipher (as a hobby, mind you), the police apparently considered her a prodigy and requested her help with the investigation, even allowing her access to the crime scenes and evidence. With her help, the killer was eventually caught and she became famous, resulting in her dropping out of Akademi and becoming a junior detective to help the police solve more high-profile crimes. One day, she became the Journalist's apprentice after he helped her with a case. After a year-long absence (yes, all of that took place within a year), the official narrative is that she decided to return to Akademi to graduate properly, regretting leaving things half-finished. Then it goes into more "theory" territory, with the author saying that she only returned to Akademi because the Journalist wanted her to investigate the school without the headmaster restricting him. When some students asked if she needed help, she asked the volunteers to take photographs of anything suspicious.
