Also, Alex should've never went on justifying this "all characters are 18" bullshit. I get why he needs it, to get rid of speds who call him pedo and to potentially apease Big Brother Twitch. But ffs, he is making a game based on every garbage anime trope under the sun, and he is ready to throw out one of the cornerstone tropes and make insane justifications, just because he doesn't want to cut out pantyshot-related shit, which is also a trope, but at least it won't crumble the entire setting. If he wants his anime-inspired game to be taken "serious" he should understand that compromises are needed to be made. If he is not taking "serious" route and just want make funny game with fanservice-thrash-anime aesthetics, he can also do that, all power to him, but in that case, he should understand that normies and big companies will probably reject the game due to conformism and you will have to rely solely on people's support and word of the mouth.
Still, I don't get what he really wants. It's like he aims to make a serious project, but also wants it to be fun and trashy as hell, despite theese two things not going well together for him, I guess japaneese can get away with shit like this in their own natural habitat, but outside japan it's super hard to pull off.

This actually explains, why Alex has such a loose grasp on what game should feel like, maybe he really doesn't give a fuck anymore. I would, after 7 years of same shit.
Yeah tbh if he was like "dude this is basically anime tropes the videogame don't think too much about it,just roll with it" he probably wouldn't have gotten as much harassment as he did. But it's Alex were talking about

I mean, again, Postal games past the first one get away with edgy mass shooting of everyone and everything including midgets, rednecks and civil activists by coating it with good ammout of satire on life in America. A lot of people still feel repulsed by it, but the game has even bigger following which allows RWS to sustain itself well enough. There always be people who apreciate obvious trash grindhouse stuff for what it is, but creator needs to play the cards right to pull it of theese days.

Alex is still thinking about another sequel/prequel to the game.

Well, actually, the idea of making them retarded college students is quite old, probably as old as his ban on Twitch. I'd rather call it grasping for the last straws.

He's been thinking about things like that for a long time; 1980s mode is essentially a prequel. I'm more surprised he didn't mention Lunar Scythe at all.
How about the fact that he was thinking about DLC, bonus characters and even the fucking sequel that will have a town and other shit BEFORE EVEN OSANA WAS THERE?

What's stopping him from being like "well since it's taking me so much time to finish yandere simulator let me clean up 1980's mode and put it as the first game. And say that since the story is already done it was easier to me to make it the first game of the series then maybe the one with ayano's mom then ayano's" but I'm sure his fans would go for his throat. Tbh watch as after the 1980's hype goes down more and more fans getting angry as to not getting the actual game

This game will never be finished. because its his only source of revenue. He didn’t want to finish it. He wanted to leave it in spergatory so he could make easy money on the premise of „im still working on Yansim guys!!!!!!!!“ he dug himself in this hole fully out of his own admission.

Yeah, that was his initial goal ("anime tropes the video game") but for some reason he decided to take ALL of that and make it a serious game.

You know, the "adult high school" thing might actually make for an interesting game if you turn it around. You play a detective who has to go undercover at a bizarre college for rich perverts who want to LARP as high schoolers, and solve a series of strange accidents that are more than coincidence.
Maybe you could make it so that it’s a sort of „nostalgia trip„ for the students involved. As far as I know High School is the most nostalgic time period for Japanese people. You could have commentary on Japanese culture and obsessing over the past. That’s actually interesting!

Lmfao what? You've been clearly watching too much anime. High School is probably the most stressful period of time for Japanese students. They have to prepare for an extremely stressful college entrance exam where unlike your the SAT/ACT you only get one shot. The score you get decides how good of a uni. you get into. That's why Japanese students in college barely fucking study. Don't make the same mistake as Alex where he thinks Japan is literally the US.

No, I'm pretty sure it's an idyllic time where girls wear skirts that go only to their upper thighs and everyone is allowed to eat their lunch on the rooftop of the building or just generally go up there at any time

Yes, and the teacher is a 16- er… 19 year old Big Busty Anime Girl™ That loves and chats with all of her students while no actual work is ever being done!

On Aug 23, 2004 Alex joined this gaming news website/forum, that I've never heard of. I was unable to sign in/register or even search for his posts, since backend of these forums is fucked into the dirt. If you have an account there or have a better idea how to find any of his 4256 posts, then be my guest. Be careful though, since it is full of porn pop-ups and ADs.
Has anybody tried digging through this account? I feel that atleast some of those 4256 posts could yield some valuable info.

Its just a weird live rehost of the gamespot site to slap porn links on - https://www.gamespot.com/profile/NeonEvaXephon/ is the exact same.

As for the posts, there doesn't seem to be any actual history associated to it, and the fact the account has a large sum of some sort of legacy points associated to it leaves me inclined to believe that its some sort of error or lost to a forum migration.

October 23 bug fixing build (archive)
Got another bundle of bug-fixes for you!

To see a list of everything that was fixed or changed in the latest build, scroll down past this Japanese cover of “Ai Will Shock You”, the song that the 6th rival of 1980s Mode sings in the school gymnasium. It’s another cover that was created with vocal synthesizer program NEUTRINO!

Fixes, Changes, and Additions
  • Attempted to fix bug that would prevent the player from interacting with objects if there were more than 100 severed limbs present at school. This may have fixed the bug that prevented the player from being able to interact with characters or objects once reaching Horuda in the Alphabet Killer Challenge. I’m not sure yet. Someone would have to test it.
  • Fixed bug that could make the game confused about whether or not a player’s save file was 202X or 1980s. I’m sorry everyone whose save file was glitched before this bug was fixed.
  • Fixed bug that would prevent the counselor from returning to her “writing on piece of paper” animation after Ryoba had entered and exited her office for any reason.
  • Fixed issue with the female delinquent long skirts that would cause their dresses to clip through their legs during their walk animation.
  • Fixed bug that was preventing Ritsuko from going to the pool after classes had ended if she had been sedated earlier in the day.
  • Made Kaguya’s hair a bit longer, since the length of her hair model didn’t match the length of her official 2D illustration.
  • Fixed incorrect date in the timeline sequence of the True Ending (Kocho saw Ryoba enter Saisho’s office in 1999, not 1995).
  • Fixed bug that prevented Ryoba from using the correct idle/walk animations when loading in from a save file.
  • Fixed bug that prevented 1980s Mode save files from having screenshot thumbnails.
  • Fixed bug that caused 1980s student names to appear at the Mission Mode screen.
  • Fixed another typo in one of the school newspaper articles.
  • Sumire’s ghost now uses the school uniform of 1980s Mode.
  • Added more plush dolls to the plushie collection.
  • Fixed multiple typos in the game’s tutorial.

  • Informative

Maybe that idea could fill an episode of Law and Order: SVU, but I don't think it has enough juice to engage the audience for a full-length game.

Well get this, there are going to be ten murder cases all taking place at the same school with the same people. Man, sometimes I even amaze myself!

Alex's adult high school LARPing idea still won't let his game be allowed to be streamed on Twitch. If he really wants people to see the "fruits of his labour" he should hope that it goes to OnlyFans.
I'm sure the OnlyFans site hasn't blacklisted Yandere Sim from their servers.

Here are the columns written for the 1980's mode rivals from the third week onwards. (A)

Bear in mind that these are all published and anybody can read them as soon as they walk in the door.

Nobody in the entire school was apparently interested in watching over the library until Honami came back.

Sumiko is better at almost every physical activity than the male students. So much so, she stays clubless because everybody else would slow her down, according to whoever wrote the column.
fs4kja1vu6v71.png
Ritsuko is the heiress to Chikanari Industries, a company that supplies raw materials that the Saikou Corporation uses for their products. After that part, the column straight up gossips that her father bribed the head master to let her enroll because her test scores were too low, and that she doesn't intend to do any school work during her time there. All in a "this totally isn't gossip and this column totally doesn't reflect anybody else's views, but..." kind of way.

Ai wants to be a singer, yadda yadda. then it mentions the rumor that she only enrolled at Akademi to launch her career. Apparently, this rumor is just cruel and whoever is reading should go ahead and support her, unlike with Ritsuko.
llc1be1vu6v71.png
Teiko wants to be a teacher and as such, was teaching abroad before returning to Akademi. She learned multiple languages and is apparently more qualified on certain subjects than some college professors. The reason she came back is because she wants the "high school experience."

Komako is insanely popular to the point that the author says that if you don't know who she is, then you must have hit your head on a rock. She's smart, humble, all that good stuff. The author and the other students like her so much that, unlike with both Ritsuko and Ai, everybody decided to respect her privacy when she vaguely explains her absence as "family business" and not pry her for details (or start rumors apparently).

Chigusa is a celebrity, an extremely popular gravure model. As such, she's the center of attention and all the men at school like her. There are "theories" (read: rumors) that she only enrolled to do one photo shoot before ditching the school.
mtwpq7ivu6v71.png
And guess who gets the most attention out of all of them? Sonoko, the junior detective, that's who.

Summary: After figuring out a serial killer's cipher (as a hobby, mind you), the police apparently considered her a prodigy and requested her help with the investigation, even allowing her access to the crime scenes and evidence. With her help, the killer was eventually caught and she became famous, resulting in her dropping out of Akademi and becoming a junior detective to help the police solve more high-profile crimes. One day, she became the Journalist's apprentice after he helped her with a case. After a year-long absence (yes, all of that took place within a year), the official narrative is that she decided to return to Akademi to graduate properly, regretting leaving things half-finished. Then it goes into more "theory" territory, with the author saying that she only returned to Akademi because the Journalist wanted her to investigate the school without the headmaster restricting him. When some students asked if she needed help, she asked the volunteers to take photographs of anything suspicious.
