Nice to see love for the older games...but I have to say I am a bit conflicted about the graphical updates.

On one hand, the new lighting and weather look great, but on the other hand, it sort of makes the contrast against the low-poly, lower-detail environments all the more apparent. Same goes for the characters, who have a unique stylized look that I’m not 100% sure translates into HD.

I sort of wish they went in a slightly different direction and stylized the world and the lighting a bit more so that it would look more cohesive alongside the characters.

Now when do we get a RDR1 remake in the RDR2 engine? After all, they already have 2/3rds of the map done, all the voice acting and mission design done, and plenty of HD characters and assets to populate the world with.

I mean it's not like Liberty City was a huge map to begin with, it's pretty tiny actually.
Very true, and you only really had to remember a few landmarks to know where you were (tunnels and bridges, the park in the middle of Staunton, the stadium, the construction site, where you were in regards to the train track in Portland, St Marks and the airport)

Why the remasters are good and people who have issues with it just hate them for the sake of hating. Of course the thread is moderated too.

Consoom product.

I think it looks fine...I only played the three games in my cousins ps2 a few times. So I never really got to fully experience it.

Isn't there a Japanese lady in a kimono who purposely falls out a window?

And someone told me Kate Bush had one of her songs in the game! Dunno which one though but I love her.

these games are better than i thought they would be.
we both know vice city and gta sanandreas are gonna have half their soundtrack gutted.
so if you wanna play them. pirate them and mod those songs in.

In theory, using Unreal Engine should be easier for those to mod. This isn't worth removing the originals from storefronts. They could've sold the OGs in a reduced price.
to be fair, they've had ports on everything from the newest consoles to cell phones. and its been about 20 years and these are so cheap to buy literally anyone could have wanted them could have brought or pirated them.

also the worst mission in GTA III was that one where you needed to steal a specific car model.
Are we going to have another cyberpunk tier cope for this piece of shit?
no? people had high expectations for CP because of a decade of great games from their studio. meanwhile rockstar has released two games in the last decade and have been making shittier and shittier ports of their originals. but like everyone said, GTA ps2 games are like New Vegas anyones thats played them in the last decade did it with mods out the ass.

most people expected these games to be halfbaked resolution increases with modernized controls. the fact that they redid the textures is what surprised people. though its likely the songs are going to be gutted.

anyway
>War Drum are doing this
uhhhhhhh

My current version of San Andreas already has censored my favorite real song in the game. On Bounce FM, Twilight by Maze.

It’s just a song that goes “Doo Doo, doodoo, Doo Doo, doodoo, Twilight!” and yet it only plays for one minute now.

At least they didn’t mess with Rod Stewart’s Young Turks.

There are a couple missions like that. A payphone mission that involves three and two DL missions. If you know the areas, finding specific gang cars isn't hard.

Never played the 2D era games. Like many people, I started with 3. You and @ProblematicUser420 are considered legends in the GTA fandom.

I find that so weird, I heard this sentiment on GTAForums in a serious way like 5-10 years ago.

I'm only 31, I guess I should have quit playing games 10 years ago. It feels like it's nothing but kids now.

Anyways, I would maybe buy this on Switch if the soundtrack wasn't completely fucked and it was on sale or used. I kind of hate the Fortnite look of the characters, but otherwise it'd be nice to have it on a handheld.

I replayed Vice City & Liberty City Stories not too long ago and it made me feel like a shitter because I was so used to the games being easy on keyboard and mouse. Especially the manual aim autoscrollers and the sniper rifle mission in VCS, fuck that shit. Also the underwear radio commercial with pedo vibes made me wince.

Well then just take your time. You're actually given a lot of time for G-Spotlight and the bike takes damage on landing. If you don't slam the accelerator all the way or slam into walls, a PCJ would make it all the way to the end. You are given a checkpoint ladder near where it would begin to smoke after a few falls as well.

GTA1 & 2 weren't as popular as 3 was when it came out. Not many people know about the origins of GTA so if anything, you played GTA before GTA became the icon it is today. I respect that.

Now, the 3D era of GTA will be forgotten in favor of GTA 5.

I won't pay $60 for the collection because I would rather see GTA 6 but if it's cheaper or when it becomes cheaper I'll probably get it even though I already have them on my PS4 and PS5's are still next to impossible to find

It's not really worthy of respect. They were just some fun games but not really anything groundbreaking at the time. I wouldn't really hold it against anyone for not playing them after GTAIII came out.

I guess I shouldn't say it feels like nothing but kids, but so many gamers make me feel old now. It doesn't feel like there are that many more gamers now than there were in 2001-2004 but I guess there are...
