It sounded like she said she was planning on being in Canada anyway. She wasn't coming just to see him. But why she would make a point to see him IS pretty cray-cray.

If it is true and she did file a police report, it will be easy enough for police to prove/disprove based on hotel surveillance footage and phone records, and Nader would eventually be arrested or at least taken in for questioning.
Nader, who insists that he doesn't have the clap but got some kind of infection from Chantal, who does have the clap, is known to tell outrageous lies that Chins believes. In this case, if he really did it, the lie would have been pre-emptive. (I.E., he could have been concerned that the woman would contact Chins directly.)

This woman story makes no sense to me. Crimes such as this are investigated immediately. No matter the border. Canadian cops would take him and took his story. Where he was at that time and so on. It does feel "off". It screams junkie theater. I remember the good ol days when you'd have to watch this unfold in a 7-11 parking lot at 7 am waiting for the methadone clinic to open. Now, thanks to the interwebs, we can witness this in real time.
It's the same slippery slope argument as it was with Chins. To question SA or DV in today's climate automatically makes someone an asshole. So people don't. At the very same time, accusations can be thrown around and abused.

Ehhh... I'm not saying that I find the whole thing convincing, but calling the local cops is something a victim might do. Police agencies work together pretty often and the local cops could at a minimum direct her to the proper authorities in Canada. Given there's an international component here, it might be necessary for some sort of inter-departmental coordination. I don't know about that, but this doesn't strike me as being a completely unreasonable course of action. It could also have been something her attorney suggested, just as a CYA thing to make sure everything was documented appropriately. Maybe the local cops needed to be involved for a proper rape kit/evidence collection/whatever else she needed to have done locally. Like if she had bruises, someone would have to photograph that, and having the professionals do it would be reasonable.
But also, did she actually say she contacted her local cops and not "the police" in general? I might have missed it, but I thought she just said, "I talked to the police," without specifying where those police were.
