great op. blows my mind that people will shell out thousands for an inbred nightmare rather than spend less than $100 for a perfectly-good dog in a shelter. then again, they're not really looking for a dog so much as they're looking for a cute accessory.

One notable example is the Retro Pug/Jug, which breeds a Pug with a Jack Russel Terrier in order to eliminate breathing problems. They aren't perfect, but I am glad that people are trying to create healthier pugs. They are also much cuter in my opinion.

One other animal to put in horrible breeds; Scottish fold cats.

Yeah, they're ridiculously cute. But their ears fold due to weak cartilage. However that's just not targeted to the ears, you just can't breed to have weak cartilage in one place. It applies to everywhere the cat has cartilage which is fucking everywhere. Every Scottish fold develops debilitating joint pain as the cartilage in their joints wears off far quicker.

Yeah that also reminds me that dogs with really floppy ears are extremely prone to ear infections, especially stuff like basset hounds

The hamster and guinea pig communities are for the most part pretty sane due to how smaller of a community they are, but one thing that bothers me is skinny pigs, they are just so unnatural, but people are all like "awwwww they look like hippos" they can't regulate their body temperature and many of them can have really bad skin conditions.

Hairless hamsters are especially sad because they not only can't regulate their body temperature, but you also need special non-abrasive bedding for them because they can't burrow otherwise, they can also get injured easily due to their skin not being protected by fur which provides from cushion so you need to be careful which toys you allow them to have. Not only that, but the females can't lactate so like those bulldogs, they are not intended to exist.

Also, what I must add about hamsters is most of them can't be bred together with one exception which is campbell's and winter whites. They make a hybrid hamster which is not supposed to exist in nature that typically has a really bad temperament and is really aggressive toward humans, can develop neurological problems, and is also prone to their own health problems like diabetes among other things. It is proof that hybrid animals aren't always necessarily the most healthy or ideal. Unfortunately a lot of pet stores mostly only carry hybrids.

This is the most fucked up thing I've seen in awhile. And no doubt I believe these people probably get off to animals too. Why would you talk about them like that? Or share fucking pictures? Milking them and using them as sex slaves for breedable profit is one thing, taking pictures of it and using the speech they use is ANOTHER.

As for the likelihood of these poor babies seeking justice .. Probably not! Unless we protest personally and bring its attention to creditable pet charities. Organizations such as American Kennel Club support puppy Mills and try their best to snack down laws which prohibit it.
And a lot of animal abuse laws are uncommon for whatever fucking reason. Need I remind you of the lack of full justice served regarding the zooosadism incident.

Not really, Brussels Griffons are also a flat faced dog while these are intended to have a snout so they can breathe better and regulate their body temperature.

I have also seen people crossing pugs with beagles to give them more of a snout calling them puggles. Not quite like the "retro pug" but quite a similar concept.

Persian cats are one example, or any flat faced cat breed for that matter. Obvious breathing problems aside, they also suffer from bad dental & eye diseases.

Then you also have Arabian horses that are a whole other league of fucked up.

Morality aside, how anyone finds any of these animals visually appealing is beyond me. They're painfully disgusting to look at, and this is coming from someone who works with "gross" looking animals. Seriously, any normal person looks at these animals and alarm bells immediately ring in their head, so how fucking exceptional must you be to think this is attractive?
