Oakland Oral Surgeon Receives 16-Year Prison Term For Sex Trafficking, Child Porn Convictions

Oakland oral surgeon Cassidy Migan Lavorini-Doyle was sentenced to 16 years in prison Wednesday in federal court in San Francisco for his convictions of attempted sex trafficking of a child, attempted production of child pornography, traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and the receipt of child pornography.

United States District Judge Charles R. Breyer delivered the sentence, which was announced by Acting United States Attorney Stephanie M. Hinds, Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Tatum King, and Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Craig D. Fair.

Lavorini-Doyle, 38, entered into a plea agreement and pleaded guilty to the charges on May 26.

According to the announcement from prosecutors, Lavorini-Doyle admitted to numerous acts that involved sexual abuse or intended sexual abuse of children, as well as to traveling to Cambodia in 2019 to engage in commercial sex with minors.

It was during this trip that investigators searched Lavorini-Doyle's home and seized several of his electronic devices, finding enough evidence to arrest him on his return at the airport in San Francisco on Dec. 11, 2019.

The judge also sentenced Lavorini-Doyle to a lifelong term of supervised release upon his release from prison.

Lavorini-Doyle is next scheduled to appear in custody in Contra Costa County Superior Court, where he faces related child sex trafficking state criminal charges being prosecuted by the Contra Costa County Office of the District Attorney.

Looks like a pedo.

I said this in another pedo thread last month, there's something about these people. Some kind of genetic alarm goes off to warn normal people. We should pay closer attention to the signs before crimes happen. Just keep your kids away from these freaks if they seem off to you.

But this guy was a pedo tourist. It doesn't say if any of the victims were local. But who knows. Thank God Cambodia tightened the reigns on foreign adoptions.

Pretty sure he's going to get out early, but that doesn't mean he'll have it easy with the lifelong supervision - assuming California is reasonably competent when it comes to that.

16 years for ATTEMPTED TRAFFICKING on top of CP shit. Our laws are fundamentally broken. These 'people' should get life at a minimum and a swift execution optimistically.

In 16 years time he'll be a dirty old man who hasn't been near a child in 16 years. He's going to offend again guaranteed. He went to Cambodia to have sex with children. Please tell me there's other sentencing in the pipeline and this isn't the end of the story.

This was published last year in the Mercury News, and he should be locked up for decades, not just 16 years:

The investigation started Dec. 6, at an office complex located at 165 Lennon Lane, in Walnut Creek. That evening, Lavorini-Doyle went to visit his accountant, and explained he was tens of thousands dollars in debt, and that he owed money to “bad” people, according to police.

Due to the late hour, the office building was almost abandoned. Among the handful of people present was a young woman known in court records only as Jane Doe 1, who worked as a custodian there. She was cleaning the building and had her two daughters, both younger than 12, alongside her.

The woman was emptying a trash bag into dumpsters behind the building when Lavorini-Doyle allegedly pulled up, hopped out of his car, and attempted to pull her inside. When she resisted, he offered her $30,000 to buy her two daughters. He said he wanted to take them that night, and that he’d return later with the money, according to police testimony.

The girls told police he asked them,”Do you want me to be your dad?”. But before the situation progressed, another employee exited the building. Lavorini-Doyle got back in his car but continued to circle the building, and was still in the parking lot when police arrived.

Lavorini-Doyle was briefly detained and released that evening. The following morning, he reportedly booked a $7,000 flight to Cambodia. He returned on Dec. 11 and was immediately arrested by Homeland Security agents, police said.
