So i was sifting through Twitter a bit until this random tweet caught my attention, Apparently the guy who voices Slime Kid was allegedly accused of grooming a 15 year old a while back

Can't help but remember the awful PPG reboot where they supposedly didn't even ask the original cast if they wanted to take up their old roles. Strikes me as a show where they focused more on handing out voice acting roles to friends than people with talent in 'acting'.

Random thought: Heard Egoraptor got a voice acting role in part because people were just knowledgeable of his voice, plus he has the equipment at home for recording. So what if most of these people doing these voice acting bits for this show were recording at home because of the WuFlu which led to them not really having any direction and possibly bad sound equipment?

I sincerely doubt the majority of these "VA"s have recording equipment at home. Even with the WuFlu, there were still recording studios open, but it was still limited to the ADR director and the voice-actor, no one else.

Audu Paden is the listed voice-director, who is also the supervising director of the series. He's the rich white asshole here:

There's a chance he couldn't direct these amateurs.

God I can't imagine being someone relatively accomplished working on cartoons for decades and ending up with this shit that is HGS before you.

I still wonder how or why it is they brought him onboard when I thought the whole production team was supposed to be women-only.

Watched one episode of this shit with a friend out of morbid curiosity last night. The thing that I instantly noticed about how the characters are drawn in this shit is how in every shot, no matter how large or small the characters are, their fucking hands are freakishly well defined and realistically proportioned in comparison to their blob-people calarts bodies. Did they like trace cartoon hands over real hands or something? When like even at a distance where the character is barely legible I can still make out fingers and fingernails as well as individual hand digits and shit it's a really fucking unsettling visual for real. Once you notice it you can't un-notice it.

Reminds me of How Netflix's EVA dub cast a "nonbinary" mtf troon as shinji who intentionally gimped the performance to make shinji seem like he was a NB tranny or some shit like that lmao.

This is super interesting because hands are like Tumblr's greatest kryptonite. Even Raye doesn't draw hands right.

They don't seem drawn "right" in the actual normal sense of how hands are drawn in animation. it's like uncanny valley kinda "right" where it feels artificial and unnatural. When I brought this up to my friend as we were watching he's like "SHUT UP I DON'T WANT TO SEE THAT NO A IT"S BAD ENOUGH AS IT IS" Fun times all around really.

Neo yokio was actually funny as shit compared to this. Not the best thing, but not the worst. Kinda media with a weird almost self aware feeling about it. Also IIRC it was actually animated by an anime studio unlike high guardian spice so make of that what you will.
I just wish season 2 actually happened for that show lmao.

I know this post was like days ago but I missed it somehow.
