I spoke to a Walmart employee from a bit further south than I am, and when I described how the stores here are? He said they aren't having it nearly that bad BUT that shoppers are really loading up on stuff. He was kind of wtf about it until I told him that they are being told to do that by the news media.

I wonder if shortages/no shortages have to do with how well-stocked warehouses in the areas were before the Califuckery started.

Went to the local Kroger brand store today. Large sections of the meat chests sitting empty. No beef of any kind at all. Chicken pretty well picked over. No eggs except the $8 a carton organic local cage free eggs. Surprisingly they had turkeys, I almost got one but I can't fit it in my freezer right now.
Find a used chest freezer, can probably get one for less than $100. Then buy more than what you need right then while it’s available, and put it away for later on when it’s not available.

These shortages aren’t long term. Might have no beef that day and high prices for it that week, but the next week they finally got their shipment but now it’s close to going out so it’s all on sale while now it’s chicken they’re out of or it’s overpriced, week after that it’s pork. They’re not out of everything all at once, you just need a stockpile at home you can pull from while you’re waiting for this stuff to come back up cheap again.

On top of this, find a local butcher, and ask them about wait lists and bulk orders - You can fill a chest freezer up cheap and reliably so when you're agreeing to buy large quantities of meat in advance, when they next get some carcasses in.

the problem is the "weakest links" just happen to be anyone not willing to act like a coon. So what would happen is everyone that isn't kike rich dies off quick. Thats the problem with SHTF, anyone that has lived in the ghetto the last half century is at a distinct advantage because they're used to the chaos. think about match making in a video game. like the 50v50 mode in COD Warzone, if one side is made up of players that were on it since day 1 and the other side is made up of everyone that currenly doesn't even know what the fuck i'm talking about. there will be a massive steam roll.

It reminds me of my relatives that lived in LA during the riots, them and their friends got their unregistered guns and protected their neighborhood... truck checkpoint and all, as for my ex's family, they just locked their doors in the rich part of LA and hid and hoped to god the phone lines didn't go out. Basically in a SHTF scenario the lolcows have a much better chance of surviving than we do just because they're closer to acting like a bunch of white niggers than we do.
Isn't the ghetto skillset more about exploiting the government/similar large organisations and robbing the defenceless than Mad Max survivalism?

Slightly closer to the topic, a few days ago my dad bought a bike off a police auction, which he searched for at Canadian Tire so he could see a copy of it before deciding to bid on it. Turns out he couldn't find it, because the bike on the police auction was the same one from the store, with its price tag still on. I guess even the dumb crooks are robbing warehouses.

Digi-Bros' family lives in LA too?

And fr, you not being able to live in a SHTF situation is your problem, and your fault in that sense. No one is stopping you from learning survival skills, buying guns and TRAINING with them, stocking up on food, learning to supply your own food, and communicating with locals on making plans for the worse. You don't stand a chance cuz your a loli-watching NEET.

Bitch as I do about Walmart Canada, we’ve managed to avoid a lot of shortages. I’m not sure if it’s just the DC’s are stockpiled to the gils for the foreseeable future of if they switched to packaging meat in Canada to get a tax break, but barring shit like today where Pension and Baby Cheques all go out the store is usually fine. Not sure if that’s a difference between how the Canadian and American branches are structured, or if our ports are just less of a clusterfuck

Granted I haven’t been keeping as much of an eye on the news, so I don’t know if people are being told to panic buy up here - though at least through the winter if they wanna preserve meat all you really need to do is buy a cheap plastic bin and put it outside, let nature do the rest come November…

might simply be because your harbor's aren't fucked as much so stuff still comes through, if you guys don't profit from it outright because ships need get their shit off somewhere, might as well drive up the coast.

less about skills, more about mindset. when society breaks down civility is usually the first thing to go, I can't see your average LA soyboy putting up much resistance when some hoodrats decide to run a train on his girlfriend. who you gonna call? the police? same thing for getting supplies or filling the power vacuum etc. good luck with your democratic process in that case.

I saw someone was wondering about the soft drink shortages, and the CEO of Coca-Cola has been kind enough to give an interview and talk about what's going on with their products.

Here you go.
Quincey said the company uses its global scale and long-term partnerships to navigate issues within its supply chain. However, it’s not possible to mitigate all challenges.
Dudes who make sentences like that have a 120% chance of crashing your economy. Shitwit college students nod sagely at all those syllables when all he said was

"The company relies on being really big, but that doesn't always work."

I guess at least he didn't say "utilize."

They're coming - Its less about our stockpiles being stocked better than US ones, and more about our population being so small, and so coastally located - Our excess port capacity mostly gets shipped into the US. We don't need to receive as much, so the actual shortages have been smaller scale. However, we're not immune to the overall effects - Prices have been shooting up, even though the exchange rate has moved favorably for us over the last year.

Canadian markets are going to be a case of everything looking normal until it goes really bad really fast - We'll go from full shelves to the worst of US shelving in a couple of weeks, once distro runs low and US demand buys out most of what we could have gotten.

Well I'm probably getting fired from my job, but in good news I saw some HVAC places are hiring with paid training. Hopefully that means actual training and not "oh you still need to actually already have the cert and we train you how to fold your uniform". If that's the case I guess the economy will get another truck driver.

Null was so off the mark he apologized and took people's advice for the first time in his life

delivery makes bank in the winter too. UPS is hiring drivers for the season too. that can at least give you some cushion while looking for a "real" job. lots of retail is getting up there too.

Do not be afraid to ask for tidbits and trimmings, often sold as 'stew meat' when packaged. It's always a weird mix from many different cuts but it's almost always really cheap per pound and incredibly useful. As the name implies it's best used for soups and stews, but it'll help stretch rice or beans a long way. Just brown a cupful of it and use the juice with some broth (bullion can add more flavor) for your rice or beans and it feels like a real meal.

And bones, bone marrow is so tasty and makes a perfect broth for doing your rice or beans.

Great tips. Something else I do is buy pork shoulder anytime it goes under $0.90 a lb, grind it up, and make sausage. Breakfast sausage is $3-$4 per lb around here and links are $5-$7. I’ll buy 20lbs of Boston Butt at around $0.90 per lb plus the spices and casings and I end up with about 10 lbs of breakfast sausage, 10 lbs of links, and a couple of nice shoulder bones I can save and use for beans.

Making sausage is something of an advanced technique for most I think. Still, if you can do it I'd definitely check out some of the processes for making room temperate stable sausages through smoking and sealing. I know there are some techniques for both modern vacuum sealed sausages and traditional dried and salt-packed. Either case it could be a great way to convert that meat to something you can store in a pantry or basement instead of the freezer.
