As someone who lives in the US I have to disagree with you. TMI me but I’ve dealt with this situation, and it almost always requires exploratory surgery to diagnose endometriosis.

Endo is probably one of those things that a lot of women who have any sort of pain jump to because it's been talked about more openly recently.

Exactly. Go to a gynecologist. Go to a pelvic floor physical therapist. Go to a urologist. Everything isn’t just always endometriosis and there are plenty of interventions for other conditions that could lead to decreased pain.

It really makes me angry that troons think that their elective surgeries and health-damaging hormone therapy should be prioritised over necessary care for women in your situation.

So do insurance companies. Titties for someone like Kevin are covered, while many women seeking reconstructive surgery after breast cancer are told that it’s elective surgery and won’t be covered.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you guys are talking about two slightly different scenarios - if you turn up at an ER/A&E with severe abdominal pain then you're probably going to get scans just in case it's something life threatening. I don't think endo would show up but if you rule everything else out then you could probably come to that conclusion. However I think the other poster was talking about when you see a GP -I'm not sure what commie hellhole they're in but in the UK you have to see a doctor to get referred to gynaecology and then you get examined and an ultrasound etc and THEN you get sent for a laparoscopy for them to diagnose and fix the problem. If you're lucky.

Can confirm, it’s a long process to convince them there’s a problem. The GP is the main barrier, but once you get referred to the hospital for scans and scopes they will find it if it’s there, but it’s not exactly treated urgently.
