UK Queen Elizabeth II deathwatch thread - Speculate on when a beloved old lady will die here.

The Queen spent Wednesday night in hospital for preliminary medical checks and is now back at Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace has said.
The 95-year-old monarch returned from hospital at lunchtime on Thursday and is "in good spirits", the palace added.
The Queen was said to be "disappointed" after cancelling a visit to Northern Ireland on Wednesday.
She was given medical advice to rest for a few days, after a busy schedule of public engagements.
In a statement on Thursday night, Buckingham Palace said: "Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today, and remains in good spirits."
The Queen was seen by specialists at the private King Edward VII's Hospital in central London, about 19 miles (32km) from Windsor. Her admittance is understood not to be related to coronavirus.
The overnight stay was said to be for practical reasons and the Queen was back at her desk undertaking light duties on Thursday afternoon.
The King Edward VII's is a private hospital in London's Marylebone used by senior royals, including the Queen's husband, the late Duke of Edinburgh, who received treatment there earlier this year.
It has been a busy period of official engagements for the Queen.
She was pictured hosting a Global Investment Summit at Windsor Castle on Tuesday evening alongside Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
An official record of the Queen's diary showed at least 15 other formal events during October.
On Wednesday, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said the monarch had "reluctantly accepted medical advice to rest for the next few days".
He said the Queen was "disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland" - which would have involved an overnight stay.
She is expected to lead a royal delegation to the Glasgow COP26 climate change summit in two weeks' time.
Earlier this week, the Queen declined a magazine's award of Oldie of the Year, saying "you are only as old as you feel".
She "politely but firmly" turned down the award, but sent the Oldie magazine a message with her "warmest best wishes".

Just a preliminary thread for now, but it's worth keeping an eye on, pretty sure this was how it started with Philip...

I heard he didn't want to be Charles the third because one of the other Charles got his head cut off. I thought he wanted to be George VII.
I've heard that too, but it's only an internet rumor. He may follow Elizabeth's choice of keeping her birth name in his reign, that or just use a middle name like his grandpa and granduncle did when George V died. Charles's full name is Charles Philip Arthur George so he may choose Phillip if he does see Charles as a cursed name to honor his old man, or George. I don't see Arthur as I think three royal heirs in English and British history were named Arthur and died before they could inherit.
Ngl that's a pretty based photo op. To think her her day most soldiers had rifles with half that fire power.

I hope MeAgain is disinvited to her funeral but of course she won't be, so I hope they stick her way back so she can seethe the whole time. Hopefully Charles will retain the tiny amount of cojones he gained after they disparaged and maligned the royals to Ooprah and lets William and Kate visibly snub that bitch.

I also hope Liz does some typically classy shit like leave them some income and lands in a place she knows they hate conditional upon them spending 11 months out of the year on it or they lose it forever. Or instructs that Kate has to wear the Princess Michael's tacky negro brooch to her funeral in exchange for some of those fabulous jewels Liz has. You know, the hilarious things wealthy people think of when they're making their wills and they want to stick it to someone, for the the last time.

William will live up to his namesake and lead a reconquista against the Mohammedan hordes 🌈
You forget before he was known as the Conqueror he was known as the Bastard due to his illegitimate parentage. I don't think this upcoming William will have quite the same motivation to build his throne upon a pile of bodies.

Isn't it that old widows odds of dying increase for a year or two after their S-O dies? She fits the bill.
I honestly expected her to live until she was 100+. The Queen Mother was 100 when she died and she smoked and drank heavily throughout her life

She wasn't even gonna lay a wreath, I thought, just stand on a balcony and watch, so she's definitely on her last legs if she can't do that.

Here comes a good day to bury bad news
Exactly, Charles has been laying the wreath in her stead for the last couple of years so that's not a shocker really. It's good for him anyway as he always comes across well doing it.

'Back sprain' is a bit of a shit excuse to be honest, couple of ibuprofens and a seat on the balcony, she'll be reet. I say watch the Palace over the coming weeks. Look out for denial on Twitter, vagueries from Senior Royals when questioned, Boris looking like he can barely contain his glee as no-one will be talking about sleaze in Parliament anymore, and of course, the ever popular black suits in the news.

Christmas is coming too, which leaves the Palace with a conundrum. If the Queen's Father had a physician who famously pushed extra morphine so his death would be in time for the Times 10pm deadline, will they morphine Queenie before Christmas, or life support her til after?

Weekend At Bessie's. They'll keep it going until the Platinum Jubilee.

January 1st 2022 As the bell strikes it's last bong ringing in the new year the queen passes away. it is now 2020:2 The revenge. Things only go downhill from here.

Feels weird because I dislike her yet it will be a sad thing when she eventually goes because I honestly think Charles is more of a wet rag than a figurehead to be respected. William, idk. I like him, definitely more than Harry, but when his day at the throne comes it'll be a similar case, he just doesn't seem "kingly"

She's probably just having some new bits and bobs put into her from one of the many back up clones the royals have for organ harvesting.

Charles looked particularly upset while laying the wreath.

People view the Queen as almost superhuman. She's the only monarch remaining who still has that air of one from the era when people believed in the Divine Right of Kings, and is treated as such. Whereas we look at Charles and William as being very much human, flawed characters. It's difficult to imagine people singing God Save the King with as much fervour as they did GSTQ, or referring in flowery terms to "His Majesty King Charles III". But the laws of monarchy dictate that is what must be done.

When Charles takes the throne, they either astroturf him into popularity (Probably using his climate change activism to get him cred with the yoof), or fail and face a new crisis of republicanism. Though in all honesty I think the public disdain for Charles has died down in recent years. If the Queen had died in the mid-00s when he had just married Camilla and Diana was not long since dead, there could have been a real problem. But people have gotten used to Chuck's wiley ways now.

It all depends on how Charles acts. If he remembers his place he'll shut the fuck up, have a short, uneventful reign and just fade into the background quietly.

If he stays the course and tries being an activist, well, watch the play Charles III, or the second series of House Of Cards (UK Original) they're both pretty good.

Charles will be doing the Xmas speech this year, or it will be pre-recorded at best.

It will be rough on Charles if he loses both his parents in such a short space of time. Though I reckon he will be a good King. The change from Queen to King will give an air of change and a fresh breathe of life. He's pretty tight with the Saudi Royal Family, so we may see some benefits from that? Maybe?

Either way, I hope Her Maj springs back to healthy and fights on for another few decades.
