Was this the 9 year old that told stephie that gender dysphoria is real and that actual transgender people have it? Or was it some tumblr-gender kid? Because I completely understand the parents doing so if it was the latter.
Nah, actually-trans kid was called Aiden, this one's called Finn.

Behindthename says "Loic" is the Breton form of Louis, so it's not made up. She just didn't use the more well-known equivalent.

I second the "Momo" thing, though. The only instances I've seen the name "Momo" pop up in were Japanese-related, so I'm hoping it's just a nickname at least.
Well Loic is kinda acceptable. I mean it's weird, but it totally sounds like the kinda name snobby people gove their kids to make them trendy. And Finn is an actual name too.

But damn Momo sounds like something a crazy middle aged yuppie woman would name her expensive toy dog.

What fantasyland is this where someone isn't immediately arrested for throwing out a 9 year old child?
More proof, as if it were needed after the fixation on the states of various preteens' genitals and Stephie regurgitating tumblrisms and vast chunks of gender studies textbooks everywhere, that Labelle really wishes she hadn't handicapped herself by choosing to focus on an insufferably precocious child. It seems pretty clear that she would rather she had a cast of late-teenage characters who could actually handle weightier plotlines about things like familial estrangement and whether or not to have surgery instead of endless bullshit about summer camps and happy meal toys. Of course, because she's a talentless hack, she's just going to pretend this changes absolutely fucking nothing about this painfully hackneyed and half-assed plot rather than admitting that just maybe she should come up with something less entirely absurd for her ten-year-old protagonists to deal with.

If Labelle's previous writing ventures are any indication, I can see this stab at drama as being nothing but laughably hilarious, bordering on insufferably preachy, with a side of being unbearably insulting.

Can't wait to see the sensitive issues of gender and child abandonment handled with all the subtlety of a chainsaw strapped to a sledgehammer.

I'm hoping Stephie berates the parents and they tell her to fuck off.

Then they'll cave because strawpeople.

Not after reading "Assigned Male" .

So remember that one comic where it had a bunch of new characters mever seen before and non of the usual cast? And how once again another little kid in town was somehow trans? We'll here's why that comic was put in.

That's right, it's Stephie to the rescue after a child got banished from their home! A kid younger than 10, most likely.
Strap in, folks. This is going to get stupid...
I honestly do think it's horrible that some parents kick out their kids for being trans/gay/whatever. Unless it happened to Stephie, which would be hilarious. This arc is just going to be further proof that Stephie is a Mary Sue. I mean, think about it: these parents kicked their ten-year-old out of the house and left him out on the streets. You would think the police would get involved, they'd go to jail, and the kid would go live with some relative or in a foster home. But not in the world of Assigned Male, where it's up to the Almighty Stephie to save the day.

We've already observed that the writing for these characters is ridiculously anachronistic, since Sophie often tosses plotlines inspired by adult transgender people she knows onto eight-year-olds. Given the kinds of people she hangs out with, it can be concluded that the part of Finn was originally written for a twenty-year-old college dropout kicked out for using Patreon as a replacement for a job.

I'm surprised he hasn't come on this thread to defend himself yet. Does anyone have any updates on Tumblr? Have we been able to find any leads?
