Looking at the parents page they have a beautiful normal older daughter. Poor girl, now she has this as a “sister” they should have counted their blessings with the first daughter and let this one be medical waste.

I've seen a lot of babies with various brain malformations on Instagram and it seems like a large number are from Latin America. I can only guess that this is because abortion is effectively banned in most of those countries.

Though I think Brazil may have liberalized the abortion laws a little bit because of Zika.

If you're going to have to care for this baby I can see why it's easy to convince yourself that the baby is a special miracle on a mission from God, just as a coping mechanism. Kind of like Matthew Nel, but maybe without such fanatical parents. Maybe.

Couple this with malnutrition, inbreeding, and many people living in what are basically toxic waste dumps, and you see birth defects and other health issues all over the place.

Yep. Neural tube defects and lack of folic acid goes hand in hand. Super important to take prenatal vitamins for this reason.

I love that you can see that neural tube defects in the US went down after folic acid supplementation became mandated in certain foods. I hope we can bring it down more in the future. The preventable issues are the worst ones.

I've also noticed that the incident of cleft lip and palate, in the absence of other disorders, has drastically gone down, and I suspect that improved overall nutrition has played a factor.

I have to occassionally use instagram app on my phone for work related reasons.
They are really pushing this shit.
Every time I open it I get a suggested video of some disgusting disfigured freak on the front page.
Today it really pissed me off because I've decided to open it during my lunch and lost appetite when the first this I saw was some abomination with deformed head, fish eyes, constantly opened mouth with undeveloped teeth and tubes running from its neck. She has come up before in a positive sense. One of her children is in college and one is in supportive employment/living. Only 3 of her kids are retarded and she has done videos about what will happen when she dies, etc. She seems to actually care for the children and giving them a better life then they would have had.
