Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I think we hit the scenario where the fortifications don't matter. Youngkin is utterly destroying him everywhere outside Fairfax. Doing 10+ points better than Trump in a lot of places. Getting like 85% of the rural vote.

Baris is outright saying they are "outside the margin of fraud here."

Quite potentially, but reign in your optimism and be pessimistic. Keep in mind with the current amount reporting in though, there are other areas Youngkin could lose in with higher population counts than the rural vote. And if it narrows enough, shenanigans occur.

Aside from a very tantalizing possibilitiy of a Youngkin win, also consider that Republicans might win other elections. Such as the Attorney General election

Which is why they're "rescanning" the first 50% of Fairfax. Amazing that we have time for a vote recount in the middle of the initial vote when it just so happens the DNC desperately needs that recount to win.
