Just caught up, and my take on the VA win is that it's not a win at all if #0 on the docket of "shit to get done immediately" isn't election security measures. Every state that goes red needs to have their elections made to look more like Florida's in terms of security or they're all hollow, incredibly temporary victories.

The GOP has one shot right now in VA to seal the deal on heading off any shenanigans in the future at the pass. They need to take it and do it ASAP.

Keep in mind that the Virginia Senate is still controlled by Democrats, but only barely. And the next election isn't until 2023. So there are some limits to legislation.

If it's any consolation, Youngkin very publicly stated at the start of his campaign that fraud occurred in 2020 and hasn't waffled on that. He was among only a handful of GOP primary candidates that even had the balls to say it directly, and he was louder than most.

So yeah, milquetoast middle-of-the-road GOP guy in other respects, but he was willing to take the risk when the other establishment favorites tried to distance themselves from it.

These two combined though provide a bit of a cold shower but also hope. At least publically Youngkin won't be able to do much until 2023, but he has vocally supported these issues. So sadly this issue might be on ice for a couple of years, but then it'd be a full year before 2024 and the presidential elections. Though I definitely think he should make moves well before then, and see if he can bring some of the Virginia senators on board. They have to be worried about their seats right about now.
