Catching up on the thread:
This is from several pages ago, and I disagreed because this guy is soclose, but missing the real point. The education system has sunk so low that we need to go back to the basics--educating and nurturing children to become independent adults with a good work ethic, the ability to manage money, and to create a stable home and family. I could sperg more on this but focusing on getting more students into college and being #1 in the world educationally is a pipe dream at this point (and not really helpful to kids, either). He is right about accepting mediocrity and that downhill slide.
All these media people (except MAYBE local political pundits) are basically uniparty mouthpieces that live in their own bubble and have very little idea how Americans live or feel. Their job is to mold your thoughts into theirs, not actually understand where their listeners are coming from.
Totally agree, and I tell everyone I meet with kids to homeschool them, although it's not possible for everyone. Also, be prepared for states and the fed to start introducing bills to outlaw homeschooling. It's coming, trust. (I can see Biden/his handlers pushing for this in the next year or two). The parents who can't homeschool have to be proactive--attend all open houses, board meetings, and parent/teacher conferences. Email teachers often, do homework with your kids and read through their books, and make their education a partnership between parent and child instead of trusting the system. Even if you're homeschooling, go the board meetings. Unfortunately for the foreseeable future, trusting schools to educate kids properly isn't going to happen. Reform will take a long time.
I bet a lot of the voters didn't have your intel about the retirements/resignations. If they did and still voted for that guy, then they've made their bed.
