The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Quite a bit, and his dynamic with Ellie was what I enjoyed most about the game.,,

Uh, this game would just end up pissing me off, wouldn't it?
Immensely, a friend of mine has the game and is fucking annoyed by Abbie and those unskippable segments.

His wife asked if Abbie was a guy.

We had more fun playing a children's card game that day.

Uno/Dobble > TLOU2

Kind of in the same boat as you as I finished both games back to back after abandoning TLOU years before. TLOU2 has superior gameplay but it's more drawn out with lots of back narrative.

I assume You're obviously aware of the more contentious issues but because I didn't have that gap between playing TLOU & TLOU2 and I didn't have intervening years to 'mythicise' Joel and maybe the opening scenario was less painful for me than for other people here.

I liked the idea of getting vengeance in TLOU2, the slow stalking was an interesting mechanic. The lushness and the decay of Seattle was utterly breathtaking.

With the taping for the HBO The Last of Us adaptation in progress, it appears that Joel will have a mustache in this version:

Also, in response to the leaks of the HBO taping, they use the "If you don't like it, then don't watch it" statement, which clearly has done wonders for many shows in the past. And they must be delusional, if they have faith that Neil Druckmann will make this show a success...

Makes me wonder if it'll end up like y the last man and get canceled before it ends it 1st season run.

Considering the game takes a lot of time to shit on both Joel and his dynamic with Ellie, yes. It would definitely pies you off.

My best advice is to YouTube the flashback scene of Joel and Ellie exploring a museum. That’s actually a really good bit.

So, any guesses on what this character will be doing in the show? Will it be a new character, like the one that Tommy's VA is playing as? Will it be a retcon of Harry and Sam from the original game? Or will it be someone that will only exist to get killed by Joel, to make him look even more like a monster?

Maybe it’s meant to be that Firefly girl that starts off the whole thing/Joel shoots in the gut at the end?

My guess is, she gets a role just like Samual jackson in Jurassic Park.

So, a TV show based on the first game and a rumored remake to boot? What's the point with so much overlapping?

A remake isn't remotely necessary with the remaster existing, and the TV show could've covered other events.

I guess it's good that they're not touching Uncharted given how... divisive TLOU2 was, but what's the deal with ND?

Dude they're making an Uncharted live action series just like TLOU, it's movie and TV tie-ins for games.

They're supposed to be similar it's so people will go out and buy playstations. They're commercials.

Is that the one with Spiderman as Nathan Drake and Mark Walhberg as Sully? Why have an actor so young looking play a character who looks to be 30 at minimum?
Yeah, it appears to be mostly based on Uncharted 4, which is the end effectively (Lost Legacy aside) of the current Uncharted series. As opposed to Nate being dragged down by family and age, it's got a version that ignores the entire history of the series.

Compare that trailer this fan film which may have made my heart flutter....: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5CZQpqF_74

I know this isn't quite THOU but I'm sure Druckman has his wretched fingers all over this. Uncharted is the money maker Naughty Dog currently despises.

eh, fillion doesn't really fit the role imho (bit too old and more dork than ladies man I associate with nathan drake), but he certainly does a better "charming rogue" character than tom cruise in mummy. boy did that clash.
