So I got shut down this week with a bad sinus infection and have been following this case a bit.
You guys have to remember the Floyd case was very different from this one. In that case, many of the jurors were terrified if they did something other than convict, they would get pilloried by the media, lose their jobs, get harrased and the like. It came after a summer of riots and protests and constant agitation by everyone. I believe I said this at the time, but there was no way the jury was finding him innocent. I believed he would be convicted of something. The fact that Chauvin was high disliked in the PD there didn't help matters either, and Chauvin was an unlikeable defendant. I mean, imagine if he had gone free. The riots and looting would have amplified to insane degrees. You have to remember that jury was thinking about their jobs, their families and their communities. They'd went through enough, and they were not going to sacrifice it for some asshole cop nobody really likes. I honestly think Chauvin is a retarded cunt and I don't really care that he went to jail. Sorry, I know that's an unpopular opinion around here. But he was a fucktard. Do I think Floyd is a saint? Of course not. Did he deserve to die? Fuck no. Do I think this sets a bad precedent? No. Maybe, I don't know, listen to your suspect and not fucking knee his ass for 10 minutes while he's pleading unarmed on the ground? Regardless of how he was acting before.
In this case, while the media hammered him, its just not there. There were no real reactions and Kenosha isn't going to burn down again because no black people got shot. And the one black guy that got shot at didn't even come forward. So there's not really anything there. There's also the fact that he's not a cop. Which again, is another big thing. And with Floyd over and done with, I think America is tired of rioting and this shit in general, so I don't think that jeopardizes him.
I just don't understand how its not seen as simple self defense. The prosecution is going on very confusing terms. It is honestly a lot harder to grasp their arguments. Self-defense in this case is very clear while reckless disregard for human life is very nebulous and extremely difficult in this case. Which is why they're going for the emotional angle I guess, because there is really nothing else for them to do. And its kind of funny, that angle falls apart when its a convicted pedophile, a domestic abuser and a home invader were all the people he shot while he was just a teenager surrounded by a mob ready to pounce on him. I know Rittenhouse didn't know that at the time, but those are the quality of people going after him. I can't really get emotional over a manlet pedo going for a gun without knowing what is going to happen, a fucking retard trying to beat someone with a gun on the ground and yet another fucking retard approaching with a gun in one hand and a cellphone in the other, too fucking dumb to drop the phone with a raised hand. Why the fuck are you drawing your gun and approaching? Pure idiocy. A gun, by the by, he shouldn't have even fucking had.
I get what the prosecution is trying to do, but they're just not going to get it. Especially from a Daily Caller videographer (who was honestly trying to be truthful as possible, which fuck Reiketa for wanting him to obfuscate). That guy is not just representing himself, he's representing the integrity of his organization and he's not going to compromise that. It is hard watching his commentary and just being stupid about it, 'interrupting the prosecution's flow'. What fucking flow? They were boring the shit out of everyone by asking the same fucking questions constantly trying to get different answers out of them. The prosecution had absolutely no flow to it whatsoever. It seemed like they were frustrated and floundering.
Holy fuck is Reiketa annoying. And how many times has he been wrong about shit? I think a lot.
Honestly, Kyle has a better shot than Chauvin ever had, simply from the circumstances. Its hard to build an emotional argument when at every turn, the people shot or shot at are looking aggressive. I still think he might be convicted on the weapon's charge though. The prosecution impaling itself on their own witnesses were hilarious and ended any momentum they had. Though I think they really lost it with that 'influencer' who wouldn't answer a fucking thing one way or the other because he was petrified about his image and hedging his bets based on popular opinion. I don't think they objected to the cop because they figured the cop was just going to say whatever the prosecution wanted anyway, and there was no point in being antagonistic and looking like they were badgering him. I never caught the testimony of the glowie so I don't know what that was.
All in all, I think Kyle will be convicted of something. I'm not seeing a very convincing argument here for pulling on heart strings. What fucking idiot attempts to grab a fucking weapon, beat a guy with a weapon who is on the ground, try to take it and approach with a fucking gun drawn. Its all so fucking stupid.
Do I think Rittenhouse is an idiot? Absolutely. He was 17 and should have not gone out with a rifle. That's where the prosecution should shift the reckless argument to. Kyle should not have been there, should have known what could happen, was too young to be carrying it and was irresponsible and endangered the lives of others with such a powerful weapon if he got into a confrontation. I just don't see the pleas for emotions with these people as doing any good when their own witnesses fucked that into the ground.
