Too change emphasis for a minute, how do we think Kyle himself is holding up? I understand he was very upset about what had happened immediately and it must have been hard on him dealing with threats, the upheaval. On the first day he was yawning a lot and it's an easy guess to imagine he hadn't slept much the night before with the prospect of years in prison if found guilty. He seems to be going through all sorts of emotions during the trial.
He's got huge bags under his eyes. I'd imagine he isn't sleeping well, especially if Kyle is in fact going to give testimony. Gotta make sure you're tight.

Can you really blame him? They definitely know what they stand to lose.
And being forced into this by the state who sat by and did fuck all while their businesses burnt to the ground. Remember when Binger asked the other brother how he felt when everything they had burnt to the ground?

"I cried"

Fucking bureaucrats man

I forget where I read it, but some political theorist came up with the idea that all violence that takes place within its jurisdiction flows from the state, because in adopting the mantle of power they also adopt the responsibility to maintain order. So trying to separate the actions of rioters and the actions of the state is a moot point; the state as good as burned down their business by refusing to do their duty, and now the state is holding over their heads the possibility of driving them into bankruptcy because they hired someone else to do the state's job for them. It's utterly grotesque.

"When did you leave for the night?"

"Before curfew"

Sanjeet knows he's implicitly on trial himself.

I feel sorry for this poor guy. He's almost certainly just terrified that he's going to say something which will lead to his family being sued to Hell. I don't think he did anything morally wrong but he knows that in the legal system he could still be sued.

I think the defence is actually trying to throw him a bone with the "do you have concerns...". They only want to free him up to be able to answer honestly for their case. But he's too scared to recognize it.
