Diseased TV Tropes community

Even back when I supported the site rulefags were the fucking worst. They turned the SCP page into an absolute nightmare to read.
Rulefags are what keep TvTropes from being exponentially more autistic than it is. Rulefags are usually annoying elsewhere, but on TvTropes? They're doing God's work. Also, it's not like Assigned Male taken off the SBIH was a crime against humanity, get the fuck over it.

I have, it's just that spergery can depress anybody sometimes

Back on topic, try going on the Simpsons and Family Guy DMOS pages and count the number of spergs with mommy/daddy issues

No kidding, it's like a gathering of mini-Enters.

It gets so bad that sometimes even the mods have to step in, and you know in TVTropes that pretty much never fucking happens.

  • If you want to still be existed on the Internet, don't ever hate Captain Flamingo for no good reason. Doing it so will have your post reported by the fans and have it removed, place a curse on you, accusing you of being a child-hater, getting your account banned then get you disappeared by one of the characters from the show themselves at night (depending on which character you hate).

...what?

That entire page is a goldmine

Don't ever said that Sidekick is a rip-off of Fanboy and Chum Chum. If you do, get ready for the things Vana did to Trevor in "Maxum Man Mark 2" by the fans.

The fact that the person writing this is most likely an adult is either hilarious or deeply depressing

meanwhile, classic liteature gets little to no coverage and old articles are not having any little revisions
let's just leave it at that I hate it when someone in TV tropes says that because it shows a sign of weakness

Some of the pages for plays and classical literature are actually well-done and very concise. One of the reasons why MLP might have a higher wordcount than say, Othello, is because it has more insane fans who grasp at straws and give it every trope under the sun.

One trope that does piss me off is "The Unfair Sex" that implies that women get off easier when they do something bad in a relationship than men, which was probably written by some bitter guy who thinks all women are sluts and they need to be punished. Whereas in real life, men don't get ridiculed for sleeping around but women do. A lot of the examples list sitcoms, and treat it like it's DV when a female character hits a male character and there's a laughtrack. Sitcoms where those happen clearly don't take place in the real world (because no one lives in a house with a wall missing from their living room with a studio audience and cameras filming them). As well, it's slapstick. And it's also lazy writing too. But even stuff that had women getting hurt or threats were considered funny. Like The Honeymooners.

The "double standard" pages actually manage to be even more cringey and disturbing. Literally 85%of the TVT user base seems to be butthurt rabid tsundere haters who cry about a woman hurting a man in any way.

Apparently, disliking this kids will prompt all sorts of bad things happening to a hater. Sounds about right in the mind of a fanboy who would no doubt be outside the targeted age range.

Considering the insane fans grasping straws, that would be the case. They just add more to the page of their favorite cartoon while a play/classical piece of literature is giving less yet more detailed entries (even if said entries can have the autism from the userbase of TV Tropes).

"This Troper was so triggered in his Berserk Button that he had to cry into his Nice Fedora and masturbate five extra minutes when he saw a commercial with a dumb dad."

What is it about Canadian Flash cartoons that always seem to garner the weirdest and creepiest fans?

Speaking of the Fandom Berserk Button page, I remember visiting it now and then back when the page was called "Gannon Banned". It may just be that most listed examples are exaggerated or otherwise poorly worded, but it reads as if there are lots of fandoms who are so narrow-minded that they get pissy simply over hearing something they dislike being mentioned. Par exemple:

  • Mentioning or liking Skunk Fu! to a Yin Yang Yo fan (especially the creator of the show) or in a Yin Yang Yo! fourm will get you hurt by their Woo Foo moves.

Is it a wonder why I think Canadian Flash cartoon fans are a bit eccentric?

Also found this gem:

  • Do not say that SpongeBob SquarePants, is dead, or you will be yelled at, on the internet and in real life.

My guess is all the bright colors, hideous character designs, and fart/poop jokes

Spongebob squarepants is dead.
Don't deny the Holocaust happened. Just don't do it. People will hate you, and they'll be right to hate you.

The Holocaust didn't happen :ween: they hate me because I know the truth about how the holocaust was a cover up for the rapture.
  • Make sure you give things Brazilian or any other Latin American users want. If you don't, they will responded with anger. Therefore, prepare to be distrusted.

I'm sorry, what?
