Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Never bring something to a vote that you do not know you have the votes for. If the vote fails it's soo much worse than mere delay or even scrapping it outright.
The most hilarious part is that Pelosi is running around offices trying to get people to agree to vote yes as the vote is happening. A true miscalculation on her part, but Pelosi seems to be slipping up a lot lately.

Worth a shot does not apply here?
-God- no. The public hates a loser, just despises them. If you try to pass something and it fails, it tells the public you are just that. A loser. And it affects every single person in your party that voted for it, and the admin. Failing the vote here is the best way to make even safe seats vulnerable to primary, and drop Biden below 37%.

Which is why I can’t understand why she’d call for a vote she didn’t know she had in the bag. You think maybe she got tricked into it? Because she’s been in Congress a LONG time, you think she’d know better

What the hell is that Adminstration counting on? It just seems they are fucking up all the time?
If I were to guess, paired with Pelosi rather 'publically' noting she isn't sticking around for 2022 and the losses in Virginia.

Pelosi stopped caring, sees the writing on the wall, knows the bill is dead, doesn't care about the repercussions, and is doing a hail mary. If she succeeds, she goes down as the best Speaker ever. If she fails... well, she is only in the role right now as a favor whose benefits never appeared. Torch it and piss on the ashes before you leave.

I kinda want to feel bad for Biden right now. His dementia-addled brain should be resting at Camp David right now, not spending 3+ hours a day in conference calls with Progressives and Moderates who refuse to let him have a win. That's gotta be hurting his cognitive functions. But then I remember that maybe he might have molested his daughter and I don't feel bad.

"I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again: Spanish-language misinformation campaigns are absolutely exploding on social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. It’s putting US English misinfo campaigns to shame. & they aren’t getting disclaimers the way English posts do."

"We also have to make sure that outreach includes multilingual pushback on misinformation. WeChat was full of Chinese-language memes with racist lies about Eric Adams, and this poster was all over Chinatown. Do most Dem staffers even know what WeChat is, let alone how to use it?"

^numerical data of asian and hispanic shifts

Dems are panicking over the pro-GOP shifts among Asians and Hispanics, blaming insufficient censorship in foreign languages

Biden’s “assurances” don’t mean shit to these people. He hasn’t delivered on anything for them since he got into office. Just the thought of the President on the phone begging Congressmen and getting told “No” while Pelosi runs around the halls of Congress, begging for votes from her own Party and getting rejected fills me with laughter.

Well, if assurances don't work maybe "off ramps" will.

Is this the blood-in-the-water moment? Except for generic hype over "infrastructure", they have nothing, and they're losing popularity and confidence at hilarious rates. It might be hopium to watch for the knives to come out, but with the progressives actually standing up for their goals instead of cucking, that might be the tide turning.

The Progs are feeling their oats, that’s for sure.

It sure feels like it. I think that prior to Tuesday the whole battle to pass BBB and the infrastructure bill had already turned into a stalemate and a war of attrition, but Tuesday was the breaking point. The newfound opposition by moderates in the House is exactly that; they tasted blood in the water and now they're pouncing on Pelosi, who proved herself impotent when she had to cancel that vote last-minute and bow to Jayapal's whims.
