Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

Wow

The Virginia results must have really spooked the Dems for them to jump so fast to get his pork bill out.

Really makes me wonder what the mid-terms will be like.

What hell is this?
To briefly explain:

There are three bills right now on the democrats docket.

1: The election fortification bill (super DOA)
2: A massive social spending package (Build Back better agenda, mostly DOA)
3: The infrastructure bill which has/had three separate versions running.
A 3.5 trillion one, a Democrat Wishlist of fuck you including everything from election fortification to banning diesel cars.
A 2.5 Trillion one (which I thought this one was at first) which has a lot of terrible shit but paired down.
And the 1.2 trillion one which was just the absolute bare-bones version with no teeth and nothing worthwhile in it.

Guess which one passed.

I can only imagine how bad the obstruction will get when an actually important bill ends up in the House.

It's worth noting, 1.2 was considered the absolute bare minimum Democrats would agree to, as it lets them put off the debts they accrued in 2020 to the next spending cycle.

So it kicks the can down the road but does nothing to make the people owed those debts want to help them more. It will prevent those people from jumping to the other side to make an example of them though. So in the end, it doesn't really -improve- the Democrat's position, just prevents it from getting -worse- in the immediate future.

Bros I'm not sure if I can put up with this for long. The hero worship has already begun. All sins will be forgiven (until next week, but for now its unbearable)

This will hopefully stop the gaslighting after Virginia how Trumpism isn't the way forward. RINOs literally giving democrats a win after a massive pushback against democrat policies.
Its probably why there was so much fighting over it, now that I think about it. If they could have passed it without a single R vote they would have preferred it that way.

YUP! It's what I was so bloody confused about before. I legit thought they passed it already and I just missed it amongst other more local news. If they passed it in the early summer, right after it passed in the Senate, you'd start feeling some effects of it meant to appease the voting base by about mid-summer of 2022. It's too late now, the 'good' effects won't be felt until late winter 2023.

Maybe the media cheerleading can help people think this bill will improve their lives?

But will it pass the senate?
