Thing is, if it was anyone else, there wouldn't be an issue. It's always suspicious when there's no indication of reviews or early coverage. But it's Phil. This fucker will blindly spend money on Youtuber's life 2 (if he is to be believed) yet not want to blindly spend money on remasters of some of the most influential open world sandbox games of all time. I'd almost bet it's because he's slowly beginning to realise that a a single game won't save him, but that'd be insanely optimistic.

Also him bitching about the way the collection is handled, yet Yakuza did a similar thing with their remasters of 3,4 and 5 and he was silent about it. He's just upset that he can't save 40 bucks now instead of spending it all now to get it.

But that would mean going against his precious schedule, and the list time he did that, he didn't make as much money as he wanted. He's got it down as GTA 3 and that is what he'll beg to play damnit.

Honestly this is just a scam he periodically tries on and off. Phil's out of ideas. Every year it's the same begging implements. Taxes and bills. Sometimes it's taxes, sometimes it's bills. It's clear not even his finances being blown wide open and everyone knowing what every single dahller goes to will hamper his begging narrative. It's not like his whales care, or are discerning enough to tell he's full of shit. Perks of being a children and autist entertainer, I guess.

He's got the money. He's tried this several times before, people probably still remember the DJRuno debacle when he slipped Phil a 20 for Goose Game and Phil fully intended to just pocket that money and re-beg using the same "I can't afford Goose Game, you guys" argument. Playstation credits are something we can't track, so he's just hoping for ten or twenty idiots to bite so he's got a nice pile of those to buy games with. Superchats are long-term support, so we're not using that money for games. Tips are for gacha. If you want to pledge to the pig, you'll do it through the appropriate channel or you'll get fucked, paypigs. Ideally for Phil, he gets a lot of tips to help with games, coyly denies to use a single cent on that, instead funneling most of it into his gacha rainy day fund, with a couple of bills marked and separated as "Kat N' Catson's fun money."

This scam has never showed signs of working, but Phil's a persistent guy. He's also already realized that what he plays doesn't matter. A more competent streamer would take this knowledge and use it to better entertain their audience with games they actually like, but Phil's different. That's why he mostly does walksims and kid games now. The whales are gonna be there regardless, so he might as well not strain the ol' neuron with anything more complex than a sliding tile puzzle. His endgame seems to be a transition into a Just Chatting streamer who only talks about fast food and/or what he's had for dinner lately, or endless re-runs of the same games on Normal.

The whales may be willing to support that for a while, but Phil's been burning his notoriety for almost a full year. If OIC turns out to be a deep undercover troll who systematically isolated Phil from every other whale, until he was the only one standing, encouraged him to play shit nobody cares about, and then pulls support all of a sudden, Phil's going to have a real rough time trying to attract a fanbase again with how he's so used to games SO EASY he's legitimately finding House of Ashes challenging. Guy can't even hit a QTE with a 3 second window anymore. He's just done with games. His gameplay is 80% stalling anyway.

I get it's all a cover to mask his utter incompetence, but that's his one draw. Hiding it isn't gonna do him any favours. Even as a salt factory he's shit. Plenty of other more expressive dudes screaming their lungs out at far more minute shit. Phil taking 20 hours to do TWO runs of a walking sim and still fucking up? If the stream is 99,99% stalling and chaff, that just leaves a 0.001% of Goldus. Not even the hatewatchers are gonna stay interested for very long.

The problem, as we know, is that Phil's addictions are out of control.

But let's think for a second from exclusively a 'business' perspective.
Let's say a playthrough doesn't meet the proposed tips goal and averages $100/stream. Let's say that it takes Phil 10 streams to complete a GTA game for a total of $1000 per game.
Phil wanted to spend $20 up front for the game so that he could net $980 before he would have to pay the $20 for the next one.
He cannot pay the $60 up front for 3 games that would net a total of $2940.
And that's with us lowballing the level of profit he looks to make on the games.

If a business cannot afford to cover $60 to turn that much of a profit, it means the business model does not work, the management is incompetent, and the business is not running with any foresight because it is not sustainable anyway.
Even after a fraudulent bankruptcy and multiple cash injection bailouts, Phil Burnell's business is a failure.

His whales know about everything, it was voldemort and Karl that pointed out to him that his finances were leaked. They don't donate to him out of a desire to help him, they do it because they think that they're getting one over on us.

He has the money after almost every stream, he just gambles it away before he uses it for his business. The goose game thing was back when he had "plausible deniability" and the only information about his misdirection was from counting his income from his streams. Thing about these credits is that he has to use them on his consoles and theoretically we could track his spending based on seeing his console dashboards, like how we caught him using his switch for personal use through him having Fight Of Animals. Tips are also for him to buy gin and groceries.

If Phil knew what games he plays didn't matter, then he wouldn't be hinging the success of his business on different games each time a new one doesn't make him go "viral". He uses games to give himself what he thinks is "an air of legitimacy" by being a gaming streamer, especially since that he knows next to nothing about games but even less about things outside of it, except maybe WWE.

Voldemort has proven that he's only supporting him because he wants to spite certain kiwis. Phil's had problems attracting a fanbase for years, he only gets whales. His audience has shrunk by over 50 percent since leaving twitch, and has shown no sign of growing anytime soon outside of drama.

As gross as his behavior is, if you think about it, it could very well be an indication that Phil's spending (probably not just on gacha, either) has gotten so bad that he actually can't afford Champions, delivered food, gin, his actual bills, AND stuff for the business. He could very well be doing this bullshit in order to keep from cutting into his frivolous spending and his financial responsibilities (the ones he actually acknowledges, at least), since he otherwise can't support his own business unless it literally pays for itself through fans gifting him stuff.

I'm really curious to see what Phil's breaking point is with this game he plays. And I mean the one where he stupidly tries to have all his cake and eat it too, for as long as possible before time is up on that shit. Will he sacrifice his Snort Fort, or cut back on Champions so he can keep it? We'll find out, one of these days, if he doesn't die first.

Explains why Phil doesn't come clean, because we know for a fact he doesn't accept the truth about why he rakes in tips. Confessing without any concerns for consequences would be tantamount to acknowledging that we keep him alive, and his ego can't take that any more than it can take being an admitted mobile gaming addict and long-time scamming scumbag. Doesn't even matter that it wouldn't kill his streams, it would still kill HIM.

he was literally in the same position as DSP, there was a period of time where angry joe and his fans were not getting along. joe is a good example that if you please your fans you can actually get them back on your side.

DSP didnt try to please the people who ended up leaving, instead he doubled down and played the victim.
