I have to take breaks reading this thread because it makes me so upset. These freaks run around doing whatever they want and get showered by media praise despite 99% of the world still sees them as freaks. One BBC article that dared to go against the grain was all it took to bring up the classic "WE ARE BEING GENOCIDED" card. I unfortunately have personal experience hearing this shit first hand. You think it's weird reading about it in the thread? Try in real life. Curious to know if anyone else heard this shit.

During the Trump administration talk of a "silent trans genocide" was big drama in Oregon. It started almost immediately after his election, the night of even. I had friends whom I had known for 10+ years repeating these paranoid fantasies about how way down in southern or out in eastern Oregon, places people from Portland never go, Oregon trans women of color (blacks make up just 2.2% of the state population btw) were being murdered by proud boys/neo-nazis/white nationalists. The proud boys were the most common people blamed because they are the nearest thing you can claim is an active hate group in Oregon. The story would always be vague as possible and involve them waiting on some dirt road in the middle of nowhere looking out for men in dresses because that makes sense. Of course no one had a real life example of this happening so you would never get the trannies name, what county they were killed in, who killed them etc. You just had to know somewhere in this state an evil far-right group was getting away with murders of trans people. It was completely surreal. I have still yet to this day found a recent case of an Oregonian troon being jumped and murdered in the backwoods like that.

I don't speak Spanish, but the linked article says the girl is yelling, "You are not a woman!" at him over and over (after she got off the ground). Based. Great on the guy in red shorts stepping in.

Before it became a tumblr fad, the estimated number of asexual people was around 1% of the population (that number didn’t include people with a discernible sexual orientation, but low sex drive, or people who used to experience sexual attraction/desire, but lost it due to medication or age).
Now that it’s “trendy”, they’re everywhere. I’m pretty sure a lot of it is people wanting to be special, or being confused as to what an asexual even is.

Yeah when you’re on actual medical leave - not just out sick a few days but FMLA or short term disability insurance has kicked in - they have to cut off your accesses. Because now it’s either the government or insurance paying you, not the employer, and govt and insurance want to ensure the employer is not benefiting from your labor during that time, even just to check your email, since theoretically speaking, there should be nothing but actual *work* stuff there, and you are not working, so you do not need to get to it.
