That's another thing that gets me mad, modern """""black culture""""" is really just (((black culture))). It's a consumer culture; just whatever is being pushed as popular on social media and doesn't have any historic roots at all. Why do they never bring up black artists like Ella Fitzgerald or Nat King Cole? They were actually great and something to be proud of. It's because if you, as a black person, played that music in front of other black people they would openly mock you in order to fit in. That's what modern Black culture is, lies and pretend.
Because producing high art is acting white, of course. Society is doing much better now, since we have to pretend that shit is actually good, so that even the most talentless person can feel proud of themselves. It's not just music, but basically anyhting. I've just watched Sucker Punch and boy, even though the movie was never a masterpiece and the plot was all over the place, almost no mainstream film after 2013 could even remotely compete with it. It has a very dark feeling to it, the girls are sexy (and I'm not even straight, but I love seeing beautiful women) and the music is imo just great.

The news articles I read made it sound like it was a crush at the front which happens quite often at festivals.

But these videos show insane disorganisation everywhere.

I've been to festivals where bands stop playing and tell the crowd to back up to stop a crush, yet these rappers continue playing while ambulances are on the field...
TURN DOWN FOR WHAT???

Turning down 4watt could have prevented this. It is on the side of one of funk producing devices.

I can't wait to see the dozens of Youtube Horror Channel videos covering this disaster where the content maker just Googles and jots down the first few paragraphs of said disaster's Wikipedia page. That shit never gets old.
All it miss is an Encyclopedia Dramatica entry.

Now what Travis Scott will do next, hiring Hell's Angels like the Rolling Stones did? :story:

I remember hearing stories about shit like this in some metal concerts a friend of mine went to back in high school. Kinda makes me wonder about how frequently shit like this happens at big concerts without making actual news headlines. The mosh pit zone is like the PRIME place shit like this happens in you do not want to be caught in that crowd tide.

The part about someone freaking out and stabbing other people with a syringe is interesting. Authorities mentioned one of the guards had passed out and they had to inject narcan into him to revive him.

Lawsuits will be incoming. That was a piss poor security checkpoint to let everyone bull rush like that. Plus, from reports the basic medic and first aid stuff was sorely understaffed and unprepared. Probably one of the biggest logistical nightmares since the Fyre Festival incident.

"Pizza Boys", pyramids, his own head contextualized as the burning statue of Moloch, rocket imagery (shades of Bowie?), Janus/ the doorway through which children pass, the Hamsa in a classic magician's pose (where's that image of the Hamsa taken from? I've seen that precise clipart used in other places), and of course the fact that Travis can't rap for shit, but is still being pushed by establishment creeps like Drake...

Yeah, pretty sus.

It's weird that we can see a red cross and think "medical", a MAGA hat and think "Trump", a crescent moon and think "Islam", a rainbow and think "gay", a Confederate flag and think "heretic", and a million other things besides. We live in an ocean of symbols and meanings; our entire lives functioning according to the premise that symbols have meaning, meaning which can be analyzed and understood.

And yet - we see a pyramid flanked by an occult symbol thousands of years old, and we've been conditioned to think "nah, I'm being schizo. I'm the one who's crazy for recognizing symbols and trying to ascribe meaning to them."

Idk man I've been in probably 40+ mosh pits over the last decade and in pretty much every one the second someone so much as stumbles he's hauled up by his collar and pushed away from the pit to safety. Usually by the biggest dude in the mosh.
Maybe at the really big festivals that's more of a problem, but metalheads are usually pretty vigilant about having the pit be a good time
