I listened to the NYT podcast about it where the female jewish journalist ("Integrity? What's that?"). She lies throughout, shocker. But she also claims that Rittenhouse shot Rosenbaum because someone else in the crowd fired a "warning shot." I've seen this repeated on reddit, too. She uses this to bury the fact that Rosenbaum was going for Rittenhouse's gun. She also makes sure to describe Rittenhouse as "aggressively offering medical aid." It's such a hit job and full of bullshit. I'm sure people who don't want to think too hard just slurp up what the journos say.

"DO YOU NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION MAGGOT! ANSWER ME! RAHHHHHHHHHHHHH" - witness testimony before BLM mob enacted a citizen's arrest on Rittenhouse due to aggression.

It also cracks me up to see these people go, "Rittenhouse shouldn't have gone there or brought an illegal gun." Ok, then Fentanyl Floyd shouldn't have used a fake $20 if he had drugs on him. And Jacob Blake shouldn't have tried to kidnap kids and go for a knife. Funny, these things only get suggested when the perp is white.

Edit: Actually the situations with Floyd and Blake have nothing to do with Rittenhouse's situation, because self defense is still legal, and he was in a public space. WI doesn't have a duty to retreat (although he did attempt retreat). Open carry's legal. The only issue is the gun may not be 100% legal.

The funny thing is we literally saw it on camera showing the exact opposite. He never chased rosenbaum and someone fireing a warning shot never works. Either they don't know what he was actually saying or communists think yelling if anyone needs medical or 'Friendly! Friendly!' is telegraphing an imminent attack because the only reason any of them would ever say it is in perfidy.

Likely they didn't know what he was saying. Thanks to social media and click bait headlines a lot of the time these people's knowledge goes like this:

-Some headline makes false or misleading claim.
-Someone on twitter posts a picture of the headline and their commentary on it.
-Someone else starts posting a screenshot of the twitter post elsewhere.
-Some people take the headline at face value, while those who question it and wish to verify it for themselves are left with no easy means to do so.
-Even when someone does post that it's been debunked by a more reputable source like CNN, it's left languishing down in the comments so a lot of people don't see it, and you can still find people outright dismissing the debunk because they don't like the source.

Spending the time to look up and verify what was going on just isn't something a lot of people are willing to spend the time to do on a casual basis. They settle for reading headlines, or reading brief claims, and as long as it sounds reasonable enough and doesn't conflict with what they know, they go with it.

They work backwards from a conclusion to find reasons to justify it. Their conclusion is Kyle was in the wrong. They work backwards to figure out why. Pointing out the logical flaws or hypocrisy in their reasoning doesn't work, because 1. post-modernism says it's not about having a discussion, it's about stupid power games bullshit and 2. they aren't using logic and reasoning to form any of their arguments. Can someone help me understand the legality or non legality of the firearm that Kyle Rittenhouse possessed.

My understanding currently, is that Kyle gave his buddy money to purchase the rifle, "for him". However, possession of the rifle was never transferred to him, as his friend had it at all times and only gave it to Kyle when they went shooting and when he went to Kenosha (never crossed state lines). I understand he's (the friend, not Kyle) on trial for what's essentially, a straw purchase leading to death.

So far, this trial is a slam dunk for the defense. Kyle approaching the police, then being pepper sprayed and reprimenaded, along with multiple police officers giving testimony that Kenosha was essentially a warzone, and Kyle saying he's going to get the police after the shooting of Hubert..how can you convict him?

To "engage in the business of firearms" in the US, you need a federal firearms license (FFL). Things like gun stores are FFL holders. FFL holders are required to keep records every time they transfer firearms, such as if they ship it to another FFL holder or sell it to a customer. To transfer the firearm to a non FFL holder, the non FFL holder must go through a background check against the NICS system, which is a database of prohibited persons maintained by the FBI. This is done by having them fill out an ATF form 4473. One of the questions on the 4473 is whether the person is the "actual buyer/transferee." Basically that is the person who will actually be in possesion/control of the firearm. That person can still lend it out to other people but they are for all intents and purposes the owner.

A "straw purchase," which is what Kyle/Dominic are being accused of is when the person filling out the 4473 is not the actual buyer/transferee. It has absolutely nothing to do with who's money/credit card/checking account was used to buy the firearm. Since Dominic was the actual buyer/transferee, this was not a straw purchase and in fact would have been if Kyle had filled out the 4473.

Because not calling witnesses at all is just lazy and low effort and lets the prosecution twist closing arguments. So, bring in your own witnesses, force prosecution to respond to your arguments, put them further off balance. And yes, and its at the expense of the person who calls them. My mom once had to fly cross-country to be prosecution's witness in a criminal trial, and they paid for her plane ticket and hotel stay.
