Unfortunately Evers is still fairly liked in the state due to his more moderate (at least as far as Democratic governors go) handling of COVID regulations. He's probably going to remain governor even with the red wave in 2022.

Within 3 days of the shooting Kamala Harris said enough was enough, the DNC distanced itself, and the media stopped airing the riots.

I think it's totally logical (and good parenting) to not let your underage kid be at those riots.
I'm actually curious if he told his mom he was going to volunteer to clean up during the day after the riots and didn't tell her that he was going to be at the riots that night (I'm just guessing tho.. there's no proof of this)
