Universities have strict procedures for suspensions like this. (I'm not familiar with Texas tho.) They have to follow all sorts of i dotting and t crossing to attempt to scare the student from suing over it. University red tape, which they cut and shorten only when they Really want you out. I saw this happen in Wi at a private and a state school, so I have some knowledge how it goes. The dept of Ed may be involved.

In college I knew of a guy (can’t say we ever said more than a few words to each other) who got a suspension for a dumb prank he pulled on his ex. Years later I saw him at a party my buddy was throwing and I asked him how his degree was going assuming he had gone back after I graduated. Turned out he never went back, just transferred to a new school. Same town, but yeah he managed to finish his degree from a slightly less prestigious school and was working in his chosen field.

You're 100% correct. Most people who face disciplinary/academic suspension for more than a semester usually transfer out and never return. It's just not worth waiting for, specially if it's a shit median tier university like TTU. I could understand if someone wanted to wait out a suspension at Harvard; even then they would take transfer credits in the meantime. Little to no setback, assuming they were smart about it.

While two years suspension would seem light, it would make her look bad to any other school and ruin future prospects because being suspended for two years would look really bad on your record whether another school or potential employers do background checks (assuming she doesn’t just do freelance shit)
