The Eternals - marvel is trying it again this time less humor and hit music and more unnecessary love triangles

the setup was basically a lead-up to introducing the Royal family and they decided to not do that.

then they kinda sidelined Mockingbird for a spin-off that never got picked up. Which I thought was dumb because Mockingbird's considered a classic Avenger.

Then they kinda blew the Ghost Rider and didn't really make use of Johnny Blaze. Robbie Reyes was nice but then they shafted him.

the AI stuff felt like it may have been going somewhere else but it didn't work out.

it all sucks because part of the draw of Agents of Shield was the potential for anyone and anything to pop up. We had a deathlok for fuck's sake.
I noticed there were alot of loose ends in that show that were never solved. Which sucks

To me, it felt like the guys working on Agents of Shield were never actually told what any of the movie plans were, and there were times they had to pull a South Park and write an episode within a week. Considering the MCU as a whole, I’m almost certain they just asked “who’re characters you don’t have any plans for” after a certain point, just to avoid continuity errors - the one downside of a shared universe, autistic Superfans…

Agents of Shield is literally just official MCU fanfiction, and was treated with about as much respect from the movie side. They tried to tie into the movies as best as they could but it's pretty clear Kevin Feige didn't give two shits about the show and had no intentions of ever letting it do anything actually important, until it was effectively decanonized alongside the Netflix shows once Disney+ rolled out.

Also she's been a known actress since the 90s.

Honselty I feel bad for all the fans who watch all the marvel shows made prior to Disney+ believing that they were watching shows that were connected to the MCU only for Disney to come out and say "ignore all that stuff and just focus on our + shows for now on". Pretty much saying all that time you spent was for noting.

God, to be a fly on the wall at those meetings. "Darkhawk? Sorry, we might need him for a show, and besides he connected to the Spider-Man IP through Venom and Tombstone and TRUST me you don't want Sony's lawyers breathing down your neck. Lodestone? No, we might need her for Darkhawk. The Folding Circle? Dude, were not giving you a team that diverse, we might need to score points with the Tumblr crowd at some point. Stilt-Man? Getting warmer, but again, Spider-Man. Tell you what: you can have the Humbug, and once we close on this Fox thing I'll try to give you Professor Power. Sound good?"

Star Wars fans can relate. (I know this is a contentious topic, but the Netflix shoes always looked cheap AF to me. Literally the entire Defenders lineup had some variation of "punching people" as their power.)

IIRC one of the movie execs that came in after phase one didn't like having a TV show on ABC so he basically did everything in his power to fuck AOS and Agent Carter in the ass.

Really in that case. Fuck that guy!!! I actually like Agent Carter and was upset that it was canceled after only two seasons. The ABC shows were interesting in that they had a little more connections to the movies than say the Netflix ones. In that they use characters like Colson and Carter who actually appeared in the movies.

Screw him!!!

I would have to dig up the details but that is why AOS didn't show up in Infinity War/Endgame and why the fact that COULSON IS ALIVE was never brought up in the movies. While AOS was uneven to say the least..they should have been in the Helicarrier in Age of Ultron and in the Infinity War/Endgame stuff.

Agent May and Black Widow should 100% have had a girl power moment where the two Normies of their groups kick absolute side by side and the fact it did not happen and instead we got Captain Marvel and the Diversity Brigade is a Sin that Feige should be condemned to hell for.

It does make since, I always thought it was odd Coulson being alive was never mention in the movies. Also Agent Carter the show is completely erased after Endgame's ending even through season 1 finale could have easily played into the origin of the Winter solider project.

Also in Loki it's never brought up that Coulson is alive to Loki.

Why exactly did the guy hate the two shows? Was it really just becuase they were on ABC?

Didn't help the AoS at times was trying the recon the movies. Like in Iron Man 1, Tony Stark answering the door buzzer saying "this is his life decoy model" and not him. While roughly ten years later AoS does the recon they invented the "life decoy models" long after the events in Captain America: Winter Soldier.

EFAP should watch Defenders for the lulz, cuz boy oh boy is it cheap and bad. Also, it was basically an Iron Fist story guest-starring Daredevil anyways and Jessica Jones was very awkwardly put into that story. Like, her character would have noped out the first chance she got.

From what I heard, them wanting a mulligan on Iron Fist makes sense, given that for the first season the actor barely knew the part and didn't know kung fu. (One thing the Eternals did is remind me what it feels like to have a team of specialists, which has been sadly missing from capeshit of late.)

I think the first season of Daredevil was the only Netflix-based Marvel show I actually enjoyed. Luke Cage was squandered potential that chose to have preachy bullshit over being a legitimately entertaining superhero, and I noped out of Iron Fist and Jessica Jones after watching their pilot episodes. Second season falls flat when Murdock goes to all this trouble to represent the Punisher and then...doesn't? He just decides to fuck around with Elektra instead and screws over his own case with his moonlighting - it was embarrassing and stupid, and I still haven't brought myself to watch the third season yet.

I mean, I liked Netflix’s Punisher - though they seriously couldn’t have done more for Jigsaw than a few shitty lines as scars for their second season? When Punisher Warzone, a movie that’s so shit it loops back around to being amazing, is better than you, you have problems - and I dare anyone to name a scene in that movie that isn’t the black guy getting shot by an RPG while jumping rooftop to rooftop.

Guess Netflix was showing early that they shouldn’t be allowed to make their own shit - I need to go find Punisher Warzone again…

Netflix Punisher is probably the worst out of that bunch. Barely kills anyone in the first season.
