The defense really needs to make it clear to the jury that Gaige was lying about seeing Kyle "re-rack" his rifle. You can visibly see both of his hands stay on the rifle, so there is no way he could have possibly grabbed the charging handle.

I actually sat down with one of my ARs and starting with both hands on it tried to pull the charging handle and return my hands before the guy in the foreground finishes running past Kyle. I wasn't able to even come close, an I didn't have to worry about reaction time, and I used an AR with a bcm gunfighter 2 charging handle which is easier to grab than the one on Kyle's rifle.

I just push the button on the side to close the bolt.
